Did anyone used to reguarly visit Scifi-art.com before they experienced a bit of downtime last year?
I'm trying to find more images of the starship "NCC-2017" that was included on their placeholder webpage while the site was down.
I'd hoped that, now that their site is back up, there might've been more pics of that ship but sadly... And not having posted 250+ messages here I can't use Flare upload to post the snapshot I have so that you guys might actually know what I'm rambling on about
Cheers!
Jim.

Jim,
Shoot me an email w/the image attached and I'll be happy to host it on my webspace for you. I'm curious to know what that ship looks like, as I'm pretty much a whore for any Trek starship designs.

OK I uploaded it:
Looks to me like it's meant to be a fan-produced design not unlike the U.S.S. Superior model built by Thomas Sasser some years ago for a Star Trek club. It's based off the Indomitable class battleship that appeared in an issue of "Stardate". In fact, the closer I look at those drawings of the Indomitable, the more I'm sure that's what it's supposed to be based off of directly.

I like pie.
Thomasmodels made a nifty 2500th Indomidable class waaay back in the day, but it looked outdated among my Dominion War fleet so I gave it to some lucky modeler....
Jeff, you got one of those to show us?

I found this on my HD. It's the same model. But I can't remember where I got it from, or who made it.

Veery nice Connie/Excelsior hybrid! I wonder what that hole inbetween the two torp launchers is?
I'd sure like them to do a "Lakota" on this one. Mmm...

OMG! That looks like one of the best fan-renderings-in-a-scene EVER! Finally - people are starting to realise that LIGHT is everything. And that windows just aren't blank(white) squares or circles.
Very nice.

The "hole" between the photorp lauchers reminds me of a structure I recall seeing on the Miranda rollbar between its two photorp launchers. I don't know what it is though.

Schweet pic, "Harry"! Thanks for posting it!
Is that "hole" possibly something to do with the targeting sensors? That's what I've always thought the structure between the photorp tubes on the refit 'E' is.
That might be a combination of targeting sensor clusters surrounding a reload port, I guess. Yeah, I'm just reaching on that supposition....
Jason,
No, don't have that mini yet. Been waiting for Thomas to re-release that and his Avenger so I can add them to my rather small 1/2500 fleet. I do have this pic, tho:
Thinking I'll get two of those, one which will get a scratchbuilt primary hull so that it's more in keeping w/the original Indomitable plans with the slightly "off scale" Excelsior primary hull. We'll see. Supposedly, Thomas is going to cast some up and offer them up on his site again in the next month or so.

Griff, thanx for hosting & posting that image for me.
The Indomitable - hmm, I'd forgotten all about that. Of course now that it's been mentioned and looking at the pic Harry provided I can definately see the similarity between the two. Interesting.
Years ago there was artwork of a Next Gen-ified refit E on the cover of an old Apple ][ magazine (hey, I did say years ago ). The photorp and neck arrangement was similar but not identical. I've still got the mag, somewhere.
Cheers!
Jim.

That's the USS Indestructable of the 80's fan ship 'Indomitable Class'. I can't remember who made the CGI model, but I had a few pics of it (and I know I have, but I can't find them right now). I've uploaded them to my server - get them while you can.

You can see more of Thomas Sasser's awesome modeling work here, w/a few additional pics of his Superior model on this related page.
Very kewel CGI images. Hard to believe those last two links contain a 2D model! Thanks for sharing the pics.

OMG! Those pics are amazing. Thanx for the link RA, and to everyone for your help.
What I didn't really allude to with my earlier post - Years ago there was artwork of a Next Gen-ified refit E... The photorp and neck arrangement was similar but not identical - was, could this old artwork have been the inspiration for the USS Indestructable. Not that it really matters
