The "Up the Butt" thing, or the "221b Baker Street"? Because even the original and correct UK version of Queer as Folk didn't make too many references to Sherlock Holmes. Dr Who, yes. Dr Watson, no.

Well, I didn't see any of those references when I watched the UK version. Then again I wouldn't most likely pick up on it since I don't know British culture that well.

It is to the British gay community what anime is to the US one. Or something.
Strange though. US gay men like watching people with big eyes who are, more often than not, far too young for saving the world, and British gay men like watching Tom Baker run around and get captured by rolling pepper pots.
