So, another U.S. Governmental figure has fallen to the attractiveness of sex. Eliot Spitzer, governer of my home state of New York, has been identified as client #9 on a list of clients of a prostitution ring. Even better, his id was brought about by phone taps that HE authorized to help fight crime. He has since resigned, and the LT Governor David Patterson will become governor on monday. He will become the first BLIND black man to hold that position in NY. Looks like SpitzerSwallows gota taste of his own medicine. When will politicians stop calling whores, or soliciting gay sex in a bathroom? HOw often does this happen in other countries?

When regular people stop calling whores and solicitating gay sex in public bathrooms. They're as flawed as regular humans unfortunately. And I assume this happens even more in other countries, we just don't hear about it. The media isn't so free everywhere else.

Thank you. Until the whole Larry Craig scandal, I didn't know there was a proper code for soliciting gay sex in an airport bathroom. THe things you learn from politicians...

I know . . . I couldn't believe I'd been doing it wrong all these years. No wonder I've never gotten gay sex! I always assumed the peeing and splooshes and fart noises were just the ticket, but boy was I wrong!
Now I'm just too embarrassed to try. (sniffle)
And thanks to Spitzer, I now know that I actually have to *find* hookers. I always thought they were door-to-door salespersons. No wonder I've never gotten hooker-sex!
Now I'm just too embarrassed to try. (sigh)
I guess I'm just not politician material. I mean, they're soooo knowledgeable about things I just never understood. I'm obviously not cut out to be that kind of role model.

Just watched the news. Appearently, the call(s) that led to him being identified were made right here in Buffalo. Oh joy. First, McKinley gets shot, then, Spitzer gets some. Aren't we just creating a history for ourselves...

Never heard of glory holes?

I've never been quite sure why, but hearing or reading "glory hole" sends me into a fit of giggles.
Actually, mental giggles - all my emotions are channeled to emoticons and things online and not to my face or mouth. It's like some kinda w00t cyber-adaptation or mental deficiency or something.

Well, that's not really the problem, is it? Theoretically, we shouldn't give two craps about whom our politicians are banging. The problem here is that Spitzer was fucking whores while prosecuting whores. And Larry Craig was being gay while trying to legislate against gays. And there's the additional fact that they are both married to women who probably weren't consulted about whether they wanted to share.
In summary, your question should have been "When will politicians stop being so comically hypocritical?"

TSN: I think shikaru had the measure of it - politicians will stop being so comically hypocritical when everyone else stops being so comically hypocritical. George Carlin had it right, so I paraphrase him here: [Politicians] don't fall from the sky. They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American families and American schools...This is the best we can do, folks.

I wouldn't say that everyone is comically hypocritical. At least a very small amount of hypocrisy is probably pretty universal, of course.
And, to be fair, not every politician is comically hypocritical. I'm not suggesting that my version of the "when will they stop?" question is really what we should ask. Just that, in these cases, the hypocrisy should be more of an issue than the sex.

Seriously? I mean, I'll admit, I don't think she's particularly attractive. But, if she's your idea of someone whose appearance is overtly repulsive, where does that leave the rest of us? Are your standards of beauty even achievable within the physical limitations of the human form?
