Not sure where Flare went for a week, but good to see it back.
Anyways, I was wrong on the true nature of the Ba'ul. I was convinced when we finally saw them that they would be evolved Kelpiens, but I guess not. Instead, the Ba'ul are... Armus wannabes. Yup.
Good character stuff again, but making every Kelpien on the planet undergo vahar'ai and setting off a planetary civil war strikes me as something that's gonna come back to bite the crew, especially seeing how agressive Saru's been getting.
Also, we get a better look at the Red Angel, who is definitely somebody in some kind of fancy spacesuit. Dialogue seems to be leading us in the direction of it being some kind of time traveler. Maybe this is part of the Temporal Cold War? I actually kinda hope so; would have to make a better ending to that plot thread than "We killed an Alien Nazi Space Vampire and now everything's all better."
And looks like we're headed to Vulcan for some advancement of the Spock plot. Considering how underwhelmed I've been by that so far, I'm not hopeful.

I was most bothered by how they were able to get exactly the right data from the sphere's archives so quickly, and also immediately jumped to a conclusion based on some very general statistics. Even if the conclusion was the one that matched the facts, we still know effectively nothing about what post-vahar'ai Kelpiens are like, so I'm with Krenim... this is going to get ugly somehow.
