This was another episode that I really enjoyed.
For those who didn't like the portrayal of the Cerritos' senior staff in the first episode, they act far more as you'd expect a Starfleet senior staff to act in this episode.
Was that shape-shifting octopus thing a TAS reference? I could swear that it is.
The Ferengi bit was crazy funny. Mariner gets an old Ferengi friend to act perfectly like an early TNG Ferengi, only for us to find out later that said Ferengi is way more the DS9 type (complete with wicked-cultured monocle).
My only complaint is that we have the second episode in a row with Boimler and Mariner paired up and Rutherford and Tendi paired up. I'm hoping to see more situations soon where we get to explore different relationships among the main four.

Yes, that was definitely a Vendorian you saw there.
I thought it was a good episode, they’re developing Mariner as someone who goofs off but often is doing it specifically to mess with the people around her.
I’m not 100% certain, but I think that Rutherford is the first main character to be seen wearing all three division colors... and in the same episode, no less! (I believe the next closest is Robert Picardo, who also wore each color— but the gold one was as the EMH-maintenance program, not as The Doctor.)

Part of me thinks the senior officers being dicks is just the perception from the junior officers. Like we're seeing them through the eyes of the ensigns if that makes sense.
