A preview of the landmark SG-1 epsiode "200", the 200th episode of the show, has been released. Catch it here:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=z2EWNzLD6ng&search=stargate%20200

Hackneyed spoiler synopsis:

Mitchell is ecstatic to be going through the gate for his 200th trip. However, when the gate experiences technical difficulties, the team is stuck with Martin Lloyd, who is supervising a fan-inspired movie version of "Wormhole X-Treme!", his cancelled TV series (wink wink). Anyway, while serving as Air Force technical consultants for the movie, the team (and the SGC) pitch their own ideas for how a stargate-inspired movie should look, and...

Or perhaps "milestone" and "having fun" don't spring into your mind?

How is it noting a milestone by doing exactly the same as you did last time, with a plot line that wasn't especially entertaining the first time around?
What's coming in episode 300? A computer game of Wormhole X-treme perhaps? A novel of it maybe? [Razz]

Don't knock it until you've seen it. And I *loved* "Wormhole X-Treme!", both as an SG-1 fan and as a fan of the television industry. This should be the same kind of fun episode we haven't seen in , well, five years. [Smile]

I loved "Wormhole X-Treme!" myself as well. It's like taking a break from a grueling job to make fun of it for a little while. And I'm sure the writers are smart enough to not simply do a rip-off of the previous story. After all, how similar was "Wormhole X-Treme!" to its predecessor, "Point of No Return"? Plus, hey, it's the return of Richard Dean Anderson for something more than just a cameo appearance!

You should wait until you actually see the episode before passing judgment, Zippy. [Smile]

Additional pictures have surfaced. They're pretty much self-explanatory.

Teal'c and Carter as D'argo and Chiana? That settles it. If nobody hears from me ever again after this episode airs, it's because I died of laughter. [Big Grin]

My only question is whether or not they got, or even COULD get, Ben and Claudia to reprise their roles. I'm willing to bet that they don't, with a crazy one-liner to that effect.

And whose idea is it for them to do The Wizard of Oz? On the Atlantis sets? And why is the Teal'c Woodsman so built?

God, I love this show.

Why shouldn't they do the Wizard of Oz? It's not like O'Neill didn't drop an Oz reference every other episode....
