Unknown Midi

This file has plagued me for a while...It sounds like a song I know, but can't ID it...can anyone else? Don't let the filename fool you...its just a guess.

A clue: They play it in the 13th Warrior

Hmmm...first thoughts;

That French-ish song from Depeche Mode, or was it Enigma? Came out yonks ago, whatever the case i.e. older than Haddaway
(remember him?)

Yes yes- that bit @ about 2.20 minutes -- that's full of monks chanting in the original.

It's not a perfect rendering (there's tons of pan pipes in the original, and that pause at about 3.00 minutes is filled with a female singer panting)) but it's acceptable for use in a porn scene with candles...er, excuse me a moment.

Hope this helps out a bit.

*regrets opening the MIDI*

I recognize it, too...but I can't place it! It's driving me insane!

Yup, that's the one. Dead good shagging music, or it was in about 1991 when I was at Uni. Then I saw the film "Boxing Helena" during which I remember thinking "God, this is so naff. I bet they use Enigma in a minute." I called it pretty close, too. . .

But it's actually "Sadeness," Part 1 of "Principles of Lust." Vocals are by the German pop singer Sandra, whose husband Michael Cretu IS Enigma.

OK, I admit it - I have all the Enigma albums. Hey, I was young and foolish. And I didn't inhale. 8)

I love enigma..... something about it just turns me WAY on.

Hmm. I always played my Enigma tape at night when I was going to bed.

You're very welcome, Jeff; I expect some assistance from you when I begin my plans for world domination, but we'll let Charles run the Internet, eh?

After all, we'd waste too much time and resources trying to wrest control from him as it is.
