Oh boy, this is so humiliating... Well, here it goes...

*looking VERY embarassed*

Can anyone tell what I have to write to post a link?

You can use either HTML or UBB code. For HTML, you write a href="http://blahblah" inside angle brackets < to open, > to close. Then you write the name of the page you're linking to, and then put /a inside the angle brackets. With UBB code, you simply write url=http://blahblah inside square brackets "[" and "]". Then you write the name, and then /url inside the angle brackets.

Well any link that starts with "http://" or "ftp." (without the Quotes) will be automaticaly transfered to link form when you post the reply. for example

if you type (without the quotes)

"http://flare.solareclipse.net"

it will show as
http://flare.solareclipse.net

I prefer this method because UBB has a glitch which turns the entire post into a link .

Dont be Embarassed

theres a bunch of stuff i dont know like for example what does "IHMO" stand for

I know

"LOL" = Laughing out Loud

"BTW" = By the way

But whats IMHO ? :-)

Id also like to know how to change my status line.

IMHO=In My Honest/Humble Opinion

And you can't change your status line until you become a senior member or a moderator.

We appreciate your concern.
It is noted and stupid.

OKey... One little note:

When using HTML links or autolinks (by just typing http://whatever), do *NOT* edit your message unless you really need to - we use an older buggy version of the UBB which causes weird linking problems.... Otherwise you're fine.

Indeed Dhunter, 250 posts total to become a senior member.

Out of curiosity, what's after senior member, and what does it take exactly to become a moderator?

After senior member comes Mod or something, and those are only bestowed upon you if you have found yourself in CC's VERY good graces....... and if there's a position open. Which, if I recall correctly, there isn't ATM.

Although I became a mod before I became a senior member. Must've been because DAC was the only forum without a moderator...

Yes, you don't have to be a senior member to become a mod. The administration (read: CC, w/ input from the other admins/mods) picks mods as needed. And, actually, since CH doesn't seem to want to mod anymore, and if I end up becoming a permanent admin, there might be two mod positions open in the near future. But, don't necessarily hold your breath. If you do, you might die, and we don't want to have to hire someone to haul away your carcass...

*dong!* Bring out your dead!
