Ok, here is a chance for all the critis that reside at Flare, and lo there are many (I must start using lo more often) to sound off on the top ten in a couple of categories from the year past...2000.
Top ten films that you saw this year Top ten albums or songs released tn the year Top books you read this year Top things* of 2000
*Things is a rather open topic, rather a catchall.
Discuss like the wind!
D'oh, I meant to put that in the Lounge, but it will most likely get flamed at some point.

I saw none. I am incredibly lame. At least, I don't remember many. I think I saw Mission Impossible 2 and Dungeons and Dragons. I didn't pay for the latter. Of the two, I guess MI:2 wins because watered down Woo is better than no Woo at all. Dungeons and Dragons was less painful than blunt trauma, but only slightly. (Though it did feature a couple of hotties.)
Music:
Wasp Star, Apple Venus Vol. II, by XTC. The Moon & Antarctica, by Modest Mouse.
Wasp Star is the better album, with a more constant voice and better songwriting. But The Moon & Antarctica is much more ambitious.
Things:
10: Being 20. (This also qualifies as one of the worst) 9: Elite Force. (No, really!) 8: Mike Nelson's Movie Megacheese 7: The way my friend's son, who is one year old, refers to me solely as "Ssssssssssss" 6: Six has been omitted due to time constraints and lack of imagination on the part of the author 5: The fancy special edition release of Being John Malkovich 4: A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius 3: A Deepness In The Sky 2: McSweeney's Internet Tendancy 1: Space stations

Well, there weren't Top 10 Movies out this year, except for a few notable exceptions, the films out this year totally blew. I only really enjoyed two that I saw ...
The Replacements -- a football comedy with Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman. I'm not a fan of football, but I picked this up on DVD because its simple a great flick.
!$^$@& -- I can never think of this film's title. It's with Bruce Willis and Matt Perry. Willis is a hit-man in the witness protection program, it's set in Canada, very good flick ...
Other films I saw which blew: Dungeons & Dragons, Perfect Storm, Scary Movie (ick), Highlander: Endgame (although, the DVD release is supposed to be the director's cut, so there might still be hope), Hollow Man, Rules of Engagement, and most of the others released this year. No, I didn't think very much of Gladiator either, it was all FX and not much of a story.

Stupid things/people/events/etc.: The election Al Gore Joe Lieberman Hillary Clinton Bill Clinton George W. Bush Dick Cheney The whole Elian Gonzalez affair Ralph Nader The state of Florida Jeb Bush...actually the whole Bush family Britney Spears Christina Aguilera Teen pop music MTV My British History professor People in general I could go on, but I won't
And I really don't have a top list of books seeing as I really had no time to read any.

Can't really think of 10 things for any catagory...
I hope this includes movies that were released prior to 2000. In the Name of the Emperor-documentary, very good. The Patriot Gladiator was good, even tho I missed the first hour or so. Ghost in the Shell - superior anime movie
Strange Times- Latest album by the Moody Blues... not as good as their older stuff, but it shows they still got it. Mind Sculptures Flesh- second album by Individual Totem
Great books include Vector Prime from the Star Wars books, Coldfire Trilogy by C.S. Friedman(which I am rereading right now), and the Rape of Nanking.
Dunno if there was a lot of Top things in this year... a lot of crap if you ask me. I suppose getting this crap-for-a-semester over with is a good thing. Getting a good summer job(yes they do exist) was a good thing too.

Gone in 60 Seconds wasn't all that great; it was good but not great. Was there even a great movie during 2000? I don't think so...
