The last time I stayed home from work being sick, I played through both "Jedi" games, Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith. I totally underestimated the lightsabre when I played the games the first time around, in -98. This time was slaughter... :-)
As I'm having the cold of my life now, I'm playing through "Outcast" again, first time since -99. It's so beautiful, and I found a graphic hack program that made it play in 640x480, the previous highest resolution was 512x384. It shows...
And those terrorists on Inferno were kicking our collective butts. Me thinks (meaning, I damn well know) they sent two groups around, and demolished us in a "pincer" movement. If we'd all camped the "B" bombsite, or our spawn, we probably could've held them off.

Well there are no perfect plans, Jeff, which was why we managed to humiliate them from time to time as well. ;-)
Now, Infogrames and Appeal are working their butts off these days since the gaming industry has gone to a higher gear lately, and the fact that the preliminary slated release for OC2 is September 2002 could indicate how much work they're investing in it, considering they've worked on it since -99.
With all the available plot lines to be explored, they have to screw up royally to make the sequel just half as bad as the original, so I'm very optimistic.
There are no screenshots of the coming game yet, but the concept art shows off the classic outcast-look taken up a few notches.
