To be honest, I wouldn't want to depend on Microsoft support of anything in the above situtations anyways....so its a moot point

That specific clause is included in pretty much every computer program and computer hardware that's considered a "normal" consumer product. It's basically the company trying to cover their ass. But Apple software EULA's have the same clause included in their install programs.

Right. Like anyones gonna use JAVA in aircraft technology, or in nuclear power plants. I won't even use it to play internet games...
