Over ten minutes worth!

Looks pretty good IMO - the only continuity glitch I've noticed is that the Suliban weapons have been seen before on TNG era shows as guest prop weapons.

Maybe the Suliban are black-market weapons dealers in the 24th Century

Cool. I notice that they've incorporated a little of the TOS door swoosh sound for the doors on the 01... ahhh the good old days.

This really does feel like a different kind of series. A Starfleet captain threatening to knock a diplomat on her ass...the crew talking about groping a three-breasted alien hottie... it seems to have a bit of edge to it... I'm all excited now.

My hand has a mind of its own, and it also comes along to my journies on the internet.

Yeah, I think the 'frontier' aspect of ENT will be its saving grace, if it has any. Being on the edge could get tiresome too, but it would help to make the difference.

As I recall, they said voyager's crew would be 'edgier' because of internal conflict.. for example, some quotes from Chakotay: 'yes, ma'am'.. 'right away captain'.. maybe ENT will preserve what the VOY producers decided to abandon, a bit of drama BETWEEN characters, not around them

Yes, because DS9 wasn't on the edge of the frontier either, and because there were certainly no conflicts among the characters.

Looks good, and seeing that Admiral with a neck tie was a nice touch, that dress uniform looked pretty good.

Looks very very good!

I like the return of the wooshing sound, and I like Archers attitude!

It really has a very different look and feel to it! And Phlox keeps looking less and less like Neelix.

I'm happy to accept some rewriting of history if it means we get a very good new Star Trek show!

On another note, why must they bring in the holodeck so soon? Tucker is really serious in obtaining 'holography' from the Klingons in those behind-the-scenes clips. (OK, granted, the NCC-1701 did have holographic rec decks in TAS.....)

I see a LOT of discussions coming from this series .

It just occured to me: If the admiral's uniform has a tie, would the admiral's dress uniform be like a tuxedo with a bowtie and cumberbunt and such?

definitely..

one of the things they tried to go back to in insurrection... instead of their dress uniforms being 'dresses' like on years of tng, they had dress white jackets, only missing a bowtie..

Yep, I was right, Sato is definately the show's cutie.

I'm slightly annoyed at Hobbes' rather rude decision to be much more attractive than me though. That's just rude. - PsyLiam, Oct 27, 2005.

Well now. Can't say I recognise the Suliban's weapon, just looks like any other generic weird-alien-handgun design they've used. Tried to get a look at the Klingon's weapon, it looked sufficiently like a TOS-era Klingon disruptor (as also used in "A Taste of Armaggedon") to mollify me. We also see an Enterprise crewman with a pulse rifle, but not very clearly, as well as the farmer's pulse Winchester - well, how else could it be described? 8)

Screencaps obtained, posting soon. . .

I'm warming up to Phlox too...

"Is he going to die?"
"Not necessarily..."

I thought that was great.

I found out this weekend that Broken Bow is going to air next Saturday here in my little corner of Michigan.

Wow, quite some interesting stuff there. I have to say that I liked what I saw for the most part. Only a few more days until we see the final product, so these clips are feeding the excitement.

Here are some points I'd like to make about the clips.

First, Linda Park is definitely the show's hottie, in my opinion. However, I don't think Jolene Blalock is that far behind. It looks like Park is going to be used for a good deal more than Uhura was in her day. Here, we have seens of her actually translating and acting like a communications specialist. Wonderful! I'm not too certain about her yelling "Shut up!" at Klang, though.

T'Pol really comes across as snotty with a holier-than-thou attitude. Humans aren't ready to venture into space? Humans have a volatile nature? Captain Archer is failing his mission? Damn, she's cruising for a bruising. I hope that the writers can show a gradual and realistic development of the friendship that will form between her and Archer. Nothing rushed like Janeway and Chakotay's friendship.

It definitely seems like Travis Mayweather is going to be the character that is "wide-eyed with wonder" in this series. He's young, and his conversation about the three-breasted women with Tucker betrayed his embarassment on the subject. So, he seems to be following in the character path that's been filled by Chekov, Wesley Crusher, Julian Bashir, and Harry Kim. I also think that scene functions pretty well. It didn't hit me as a "oh my god, why is this in here?" moment.

Doctor Phlox, thank the powers of the universe, is not a Neelix-clone. It does look like that he, with T'Pol, are going to be commentators on the human condition, but without Neelix's in-your-face obnoxiousness. He seems intelligent and thoughtful in his actions. His scene with Archer at the medical facility was a fascinating watch. I think I'm going to like his character as long as the writers don't try to dumb him down.

All's that left for me to comment on are the minor odds and ends. Malcolm Reed has yet to really be featured all that prominently in the promos or clips. Klang's outfit in the cornfield definitely resembles that TOS-era Klingon garments. Did Farmer Moore cock his pulse Winchester before shooting on Klang? I like Ambassador Soval. He seems to be more understanding of human nature than T'Pol or the other Vulcan aide.
