Seems obvious that this will be set in the 32nd century. Can‘t really say that I‘m thrilled about that setting. The aesthetics of that era (weird shapes as starships, fugly uniforms and christmas tree space stations) were one of the reasons why I stopped watching TMBS after season 3.

I figured this was gonna happen when they moved Tilly. I'm always for more of seeing Mary Wiseman.

But will we see more of her? They never explained why Wiseman was so underused in Season 4, did they? Doesn't seem like she filmed anything else.

She also put on a great deal of weight (over the course of the show). No judgement, I mean, many of us do. But after all the years of the Berman era where all performers were often excessively svelte (I think during the ENT era a casting directions for background performers came to light, and which insisted on extras with less fat than a butcher’s pencil), it’s striking. I hope it’s not a health problem, obviously. And given how close, and active on social media, the DSC cast are, I don’t think they’d stand for it if one of them got sidelined or written out for such a rubbish reason…

Well, it's not just the weight. Her whole style (hairdo, clothes) went noticeably downhill. There surely seems something amiss.

Likewise. Maybe it’s nothing. I sure hope so, she’s a good actor and plays a good character - and, most commendably for the show, that’s what she was meant to be. It would have been all too easy to have her character be the sex appeal, the new Seven, the new T’Pol.
But to go from this to this, well, it’s a heck of a transformation, especially in image-conscious Hollywood. That, combined with the notable lack of any other projects that might explain her effectively being written out of season 4… yeah. Feels like something’s up.
