Lots of casting news. The above video introduces us to the actors playing the cadets. Also announced is a LOT of returning characters from Discovery, including Tilly (practically a given), Reno, and Vance.
Also returning... ROBERT PICARDO! I'm already seeing mass speculation as to whether he will be playing the "actual" Doctor or the "Living Witness" back-up copy. If it's the "Living Witness" copy... Remember, Series ? did it first!
Yup, new show announced. Live-action comedy. Sounds like it takes place on Risa (or somewhere similar) and is... kinda like the Truman Show?

All of this except Lower Decks & the Academy show is hot flaming garbage, & I say that about the Academy because we know nothing about it yet.
That SNW clip wasn't funny despite it supposed to be, was badly acted, & as you said, is poor canonizing. Their speech patterns were like that Brooklyn 99 scene where they all did their impression of Holt eating a marshmallow–except, y'knOw, not funny. In fact, I'd prefer they drop with the shitty snark-style humor attempts (& it is shitty) & try to fucking remember these people are on a starship bridge, not working at The Gap or as servers in a wine bar.
That S31 trailer made no sense & felt like standard shitty trashy Hollywood bondage-style action porn. Feh. As for a Risa/Truman Show mashup? GO FUCK YOURSELF WITH A CHAINSAW.

I have no hope for CBSTrek. DSC and PIC are gone (and good riddance), LDS will be gone (and good riddance to that too), PRO season 2 seems to be the end of that show (and NOT good riddance, as PRO was the best show they made), and we’re left with:
SNW, which I find tolerable…
SFA, which I have zero interest in…
Section 31 movie, which looks like ass…
And Tawny’s pet project? No. Just, no.
