They show the plaque of the Sao Paulo (proper spelling)... To be renamed Defiant, as per Starfleet request.

They named it after the people and the city in Brazil, but the used the quote

That's because the Brazillians don't HAVE any famous literary quotes.

That's a JOKE!

The quotes very often have little to do with the ship name.

How about something from "The Girl From Ipanema?" Words by either Antonio Carlos Jobim, or Vinicius de Moraes, I forget which. . . Of course, Ipanema is in Rio de Janeiro, so maybe not!
