I just received the new Encyclopedia and it is possible that I flood the Forum with questions from it.
For instance, I noticed that the Delta Flyer side view is flattened compared to what we thought it should look like. Could it be someone measured the shuttlebay door and told the draftsman to make it fit somehow?

But then that messes with what the Delta Flyer actually looks like onscreen!
Or, perhaps, everything within the Flyer contracts vertically.

BTW, the new Magazine with Flyer blueprints is out, I took a short look inside but it wasn't worth the purchase (at least for me). No size information.

How do the schematics in the STMAG compare with those in the Encyc?

Unfortunately, I'm not much of a schematic/drawing buff, so I usually don't notice these details (except when I have two pictures side by side). They are very well labeled, and at the beginning of the article you have a nice 3/4 CGI view. It's just that I become a little sick of those humongous articles about the Vulcans and other familiar things, so I've decided not to purchase the Magazine until they have an interesting "Designing the..." article (it's Stellar Cartography in this issue).
I've tried writing them -twice- with suggestions, hoping to get some interesting answers, but what do I see in the columns instead? "Hello, why do you say that the Enterprise-C is Ambassador-class, I have a poster here that says Alaska-class....", etc, etc. Not worth the bother.

Actually, I believe that schematic to be pretty accurate, although the front of the lower half of the hull needs to blend into the upper hull more smoothly.
