[edit: Hm.. or you could have UM google it for you while i'm still typing] anyway heres what wrote before his post:
originally, in 'Restoration' I believe, the Trident was referred to as a Galaxy-class ship, although many believe it is an Ambassador-class.
A later novel assigned it the registry NCC-31347.
I believe this is because David recanted on having both the new New Frontier vessels be Galaxies, and decided to make Trident an Ambassador. Its up in the air now.. until he writes a definite line solving the mystery, we have to wait and see (Unless another New Frontier reader has info i dont.. on what is definitive, Galaxy or Ambassador or.. 'other' for it.. i dont have the recent books at my fingertips so i cant chekc to see if he said that or not)
As for crew, its commanded by Captain Elizabeth Paula Shelby, with first officer Commander Katerina Mueller. The bridge crew includes Lt. Arex at security, chief science officer Lt. Cmdr. Gleau and science officer Lt. M'Ress, Lt. Romeo Takahashi at ops and Lt. Mick Gold at conn i believe.. a few others have been mentioned but i'll leave that to whoever has the books with them

Convenient temporal phenomenae displaced them from their points in history and happened to deposit them at the perfect time and place for them to become crewmembers in NF.
