I just got the movie ... and it was The First Men in the Moon that I had wondered about all these years. Some of my memories were wrong, though.
There were 3 people who went to the moon. Someone said it was cavorite (or something like that) & that was correct. The movie doesn't start out with the old man & woman watching TV about the past, though, so I don't know where I got that detail.
There were little red "Moon People" and it was great. My little 7 yr old boy said it was his favorite movie (he watched it with me last night).
If you get a chance to watch this movie, please do! I think you will like it. It moves a little slow, but probably perfect for a kid!

Memories tend to get muddled up like that when you're a kid. The mind makes associations more, so you learn faster, I'd say.
