I happened to see this last night on Adult Swim. It's several years old, and only the pilot episode was made, but this was the first time I saw it. I'm not sure whether to laugh or be very afraid.
What frightened me so much is that I got every single sci-fi/fanatasy/whatever reference in the episode, even the really obscure ones (one guy was called "gorch-face"). The show ended with a rapid-fire trivia contest to see who would buy a 12" Boba Fett. I knew about 90% of the answers, and those I didn't know I at least understood the reference.
I suppose the one thing that makes me feel better about all this is that my wife would get most of the references as well. Even the gorch one.
