Well a very satisfying ending... but at the same time - sad and up in the air - but at least well even though I've got spoiler warnings I'm not going to keep going.
I really just had to write to say a few things:
That Cyberman-woman who was getting married - so sad - as was the one looking at its reflection.
Mrs. M. was pretty cool.
That was gross - the inside of the Cyberman - the spaghetti nerves - gewh. I have the taste of a cold noodle in my head!
The music/score in the episode was FANTASTIC.
I'm REALLY liking David Tennant now. I mean I have been before - but he gets better each episode.

I really think the writer of "School Reunion" should have told the rest of the writing staff that he was putting in that bit where Rose gets disgusted by Mickey's very presence. Because the rest of the episodes sure haven't kept up with that.
Otherwise, I liked everything except the whole "disabling the emotional inhibitor" thing. First of all, it was pretty much explicitly stated that it would inflict unbearable, even fatal, mental torture on hundreds or thousands of people. I would have expected a little more of a pang of conscience from the Doctor. Also, when it actually happened, the only hint we got of any emotional anguish was from the one Cyberman who happened to glance in the mirror. All the others just sort of writhed around, grabbing their heads or flailing their arms about. And then, one of their heads exploded. Come on.
Aside from that, though, it was good.

Since I'm saving myself for next year when the DVD's for Series 2 come out, I haven't actually seen this, but I can at least comment on it based on what's been said.
Rose is described as nineteen years old in Series 1. Her behavior in "School Reunion" seems an absolutely normal way for a bratty, self-interested nineteen-year old girl to behave. Obviously, the Doctor put the smackdown on her off-camera, saying something to the effect of, "you better stop acting like a self-centered bitch, 'cause my former self pretty much ruined Mickey's life by returning your bitch ass home twelve months too late, and I'm trying to make it up to him."
Yeah, I think that's exactly what the Doctor would say.

As stated above, the dichotomy or Rose flip-flop feelings is very believable. I worked with a group of people that were really down on one part-time employee. This gal couldn't do her job right (in their eyes) and wasn't worth keeping. Yet, when they fired the part-timer, you should have seen the way everyone else reacted; "that's not right. That's not fiar. They shouldn't do that..."
Same way with anyone. When we're agitated by someone, we snap and say things we later regret or don't mean. How quickly we can go to "I hate you, I wish you were dead" to "OMG, I can't believe he's gone..."
So, this episode makes it clear the Doctor stays in the same dimension and any travel to a parallel universe is purely accidental and shouldn't happen. Bummer. That would have explained away a lot of discontinuity.
Wonder if we'll see the Cybermen again. Is that possible?
I didn't think about Micky/Ricky's gran being "assimilated," but I did notice that he was staying for the same reasons the Docotr told Rose she couldn't get involved. They really weren't her parents and Ricky's gran was no relation to Micky.
My step-son commented this episode had the best special effects he's ever seen on the series. I didn't bother to tell him that all of these episodes have better FX than back in the old days.

Minor finale $$ spoiler $$: Also, there will be a sort of half-converted Cyberwoman in this week's Torchwood, presumably a left-over from the Battle of Canary Wharf.

I wonder though, whatever happened to the Cybermen in this universe? I know that the 7th doctor killed a lot of them in one serial, but did he exterminate them?

The original Cybermen never were a huge, intergalactic threat like the Daleks were. At least since Tom Bakers' time, they were mostly a defeated force looking for greater power... Heck, the alternate Cybermen already taking over the main population is probably closer than the domestics were ever able to do.

Just saw "Cyberwoman." Hmm. Seems in the last gasps of the Dalek v Cybermen battle, they decided not to take time to do the full upgrade but just did partials, leaving Cyborgs much more like we think of them (ie like the Borg).
