In the early episodes of TOS they show that the weapons are charged and fired what was called the phaser control room, although in later eps, the helm officer and sometimes navigator pushed the button and fired the weapons from the bridge. The question I have is how are weapons actually fired on starships

Haha, let's see how long it can stay nice here.

But anyway, almost one year ago (interestingly enough), someone brought up this topic:

Enterprise NCC-1701 Weapons

and some related discussion here.

However, I'm sure some folks would love to add some more to this subject.

Or "Suposably".

Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

Or "all the sudden". Or "would of", "might of", etc.

Suffice it to say, the list is nigh inexhaustible.

What's worse is when they spell that one correctly, but pronounce it as above. It makes me twitch.

In MOST episodes and movies, there is direct fire control from teh Bridge, Helm station. Both in Episodes and logically, there is also the possibility of direct control from the phaser and photon torpedo control rooms.
