It occurred to me that there were certain. . . things. . . that were undisputably top around here. Does that make sense? Probably not, but maybe you'll understand when you read what I've got so far:

The Flare Band: They Might Be Giants

The Flare Soft Drink: Dr. Pepper

The Flare Candy: Creme Eggs

The Flare Director: Kevin Smith

The Flare Cartoon: tied between The Simpsons and South Park

The Flare Comedy Team: tied between Monty Python's Flying Circus and The Fast Show

The Flare SF TV Show: Babylon 5

The Flare Columnist: James Lilleks

You get the idea? Most of the above would be chosen by the majority if asked. Not everyone has to agree, and if you went to a vote some of them would be beaten by something else, but at first glance they'd all be the likely winners. Now, what others are there? Just remember - non-Trek things only.

Flare Topic of Obssesive Interest: Charles's Sheep

No, your missing a few things here. Let's not get too flippant. That Sehlat has been mentioned less than cranberry juice. Which has hardly been mentioned at all, however many times you hit it on a Search. We're talking about things that have entered the 'national consciousness' - hence, while we're aware that one or two obsessives keep boring us with Transformers talk, most of us couldn't be bothered.

People are SO predictable. Whenever my old name comes up, someone asks. In reply, someone who hates me at the moment (there's always at least one) takes great pleasure in providing the gory details. This time it's Omega, who thinks I said his girlfriend is a bloke (thereby contravening those bits of the Bible that would have been in the Bible if Omega had written it). Fortunately, he has no imagination, so in this instance he's actually told it like it happened. 8)

Holy shit.

Pretty much what I thought when I saw the thread. I knew it had to be an old thread, but the old ones are fun to look at down the road.

So what happened to Gaseous Anomaly? A person who left - or a changed name... I can't keep track of all the changed names. Where is Frank/Who is Frank now!?! I mean all these changes... Charles used to be FEMALE back in 1999! [Wink] J/K Chuckles. [Smile]

A lot less, since Tim took over from him as our resident planet.
