Ladies and Gentlemen,

We at SciFi-Art are proud to announce the grand opening of not one, but two, yes, TWO new sites.

First up is the SciFi-Art version 2 site.

The location is the same as the old- http://www.scifi-art.com

Two major notable changes are the Forums URL (gonna have to reset your cookies, NO NEED to re-register at either sites forums!!!) and the Star Trek discussion forum. It will no longer be there on the SciFi-Art forums, because...

SciFi-Art prouly presents the 3D Gladiators site!

It's located at- http://gladiators.3dworlds.org/

The new Star Trek forums are located there.

Modeling the TOS Trek Universe is the Gladiators motto, and a bang up job they did!

Be sure to visit BOTH sites for full entertainment!

About the changes-

SciFi-Art decided a major make-over was needed on the old site, and we went through many delays, trying to figure out which way we were going and what we wanted to do on it.

One major item was to move away from Trek as much as possible, yet not completely.

We went through Senate and normal member changes as well, which also helped in the delays, as some members became honorary (due to lack of online time), and new members were added into the mix.

The over-all SciFi-Art site went through a few server changes as well, like to S-stephens server, until we settled into a new home on Snowcrashes server. SciFi-Art was so popular, it was over-loading S-stephen's server, hence the final move.

Then one day, WarriorDL decided a new sub group would be cool to cover a sorely under-modeled era in Star Trek- The TOS era. The 3D Gladiators were born to help cover the "loss" of Star Trek modeling within SciFi-Art, and from that idea came many more for other sub groups, of who's sites will launch when they are ready.

Meanwhile, Tachy worked long and hard on a good design concept for the new version 2 site. The SciFi-Art members started work on material to place into the sites.

The end result is the two sites listed above.

It's been a long haul for these two sites (Well over 6 months!), but well worth it, as we wanted to bring you, the site visitor, the best we could, and we think we achieved that )

Maybe you'd want a clear idea of what blatant spam is ?

Spam is posting for the sake of advertising a site. The above qualifies.

Oh. I see. No other web page is allowed to ever be mentioned on these forums?

Or is it just because it's SF-A's site?

No wonder not too many people like your forums...

So much for trying to be a nice Ambassador of sharing stuff, eh?

*shakes head in utter disgust*

If you are an "ambassador", you would know to read the RULES of the Forums before you came in and posted. If you read the rules, you would know that what you did is spamming, regardless of who you are or where you are from.

You screwed up. Not our fault. You want someone to blame and insult, I suggest you do it to yourself. Now, if all you're here to do is bug, I suggest looking somewhere else. End of story.

Ah crap this has degraded into nothing but a toss of words.

quote:
No wonder not too many people like your forums...

There's the bad talking

Of course, you're still continuing to do it, so you're not exactly helping the situation

And the terms and conditions were clearly shown to all of you when you registered. It is clearly stated in this the following:

quote:
IF YOU SPAM US, WE WILL SHUT YOU DOWN! If you post a spam to this BB, you will be banned, and your ISP contacted concerning abuse of their serivices. Doing that will probably get your account terminated. You have been warned. (Spam is defined as any and all of the following: advertisements for services or websites, excessive useless fluff messages, flooding, and the like)

And since you have obviously broken these, I am willing to bet Charles will be locking, if not deleting, this thread.

I'm sorry, but you will have to explain in GREAT detail how a fellow 3D art site proudly announcing their updated site, and another 3D fellow art site announcing their grand opening, is spamming. Am I asking for you to buy anything? No. Spamming someone has to do with buying somethign from another site. I never asked that.

Why did I say no one harldy comes here? LOOK AT THE DAMN POST BEFORE THAT ONE. As I said, you guys started it, not me.

Close and delete this thread. NOW.

I damn sure made a mistake posting that here, thinking "Gee, what commadre, eh?"

Not from you guys, that's for damn sure. So no, I don't think I want to be associated with you at all.

Close and delete.

Unfortunatly, your definition of spam is incorrect. As I previously stated in the quote, spamming = advertisements for services or websites, excessive useless fluff messages, flooding, and the like. You have done exactly that.

Boiling it all down, all you've done is say "Look, I have a site, it's new, everyone come have a look see!" This is spamming.

Everything would have been fine and dandy if you had simply followed the rules of the Forums. And, unfortunatly, you started this whole fiasco off with the original post in this thread. We are not at fault for your ignorance of the laws of the land.

And who suddenly came up with this ingenious idea of acting like 5 year olds and bringing over all these people for the possibility of bashing us like children? You must be proud.

And ISPs actually ban because of "excessive, useless fluff messages"??

I'm pretty sure you'd have a tough time getting that particular thing to stick.

BTW - if someone has a link in their sig does that mean they get banned as well?

Cool. It seems the kid had some SFA-cronies covering him while typing. Real mature, guys.

In WarriorDL's defense, about the spamming, c'mon, he didn't know any better. Anyone who's been to the Sci-Fi Art's forums knows how they spam in pretty much every thread, they're brought up on it.
Not to mention all the ass-kissing anyone gets who posts a five-year old's stab at a flying saucer. For a "3D art site" you have pretty low standards. Every once in a while someone dusts of a sovereign-mesh and adds five solar-flares so you can have a group-hug and keep the spirit up.

How am I doing so far?
Oops, forgot the

Nimrod, please don't degrade to their level. Just because they want to act stupid doesn't mean we should match them at it.

I know he got a laugh out of posting that, and quite frankly, so did I in reading it.

See, on our forums, we let people post. We don't rule them with an iron thumb like you do here.

The only relation between the Flare Forums and the Sci-Fi Art Forums is that they are Forums. That's pretty much it. Therefore, there is no comparison.

Heh, this thread is so funny I just had to join in for the show. Or should I say YOU guys are so funny. Spamming.....

Why did you put up this BB? To make your puny self look like some powerful devine people, so you can put up some rules and live them out to the letter? You must be really proud of yourselves. I wish I was like you, so arrogant you can smell yourselves. Pity I'd miss out on the joys of friendship, though. But then, what do you know anyway.

Oh by the way, sorry for mentioning this BB was funny. Ofcourse that's advertising and thus spamming. Please delete my post!

Well I'm going to stop before I start. I'd like to apologize in advance to CC... I mean honestly, I think we proved our point along time ago. I don't know why Warrior decided to post here... He may or may not have known of our past history... But immediately one of your boys (who I'm gonna jump out on a limb and say probably wasn't one of your boys) attacked him for something really stupid. So before this turns into a major flame war (Which I could care less about...) I'm just going to drop the whole thing... (like it matters)

I'm honestly kind of tired of poking you guys with the preverbial stick... You're not moving all ready and frankly starting to smell. As far as I'm concerned you're just that thing in the corner I'd like to ignore...

One last thing I'd like to say though in response to Candyasses comments over there... The reason Scifi-Art is successful is the same reason why WWF Smackdown gets a 6.2 Nielson and Star Trek rarely gets above a 2.5. 'Nuff said.

As I recall, OUR definition of what constitutes spamming does now, and ALWAYS HAS included any post which simply refers the users to another site, without any further discussion or any relevant topic, whether it be personal, corporate, or what-have-you, sites in signatures excepted.

As I recall, this was the subject of much discussion AND agreed to by general consensus (with the exception of a couple of crybabies), a long, LONG time ago, and reiterated with the current incarnation of this forums.

Therefore, posting as above can only be due to one of two things:

1.) Ignorance -- forgivable, but there is an old legal maxim which states that "ignorance of the law is no excuse," and means that when you enter into new territory, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to find out the rules for yourself (preferably by ASKING before breaking them), and NOT that of the local government. If this was the case, then the response, though perhaps somewhat caustic, was certainly within the inhabitants' rights.

2.) A deliberate attempt to start another petty episode. I considered this doubtful, until I noticed the sudden influx of complaintants from SFA. Surprise, surprise... it's almost as if someone was WAITING for such a moment. Given the behavior I've seen in the past, I'm beginning, reluctantly, to lean toward this interpretation. (you know, I got an announcement about the whole SFA thing in MY email, and I didn't think it important enough OR a good idea to post of it here. I mean, anybody who really WANTS to know already DOES.)
If THIS was the case, then it's a sad day for SFA, and a lot of people have a great deal of maturing to do.

*grumble*

Warrior, when you registered, you agreed to not spam. The definition of spam is very clearly laid out in the agreement page. You are in violation of the spam rule. You have been banned.

Tachy, you have been banned for ages now, and you still are. Do not return. Every time you pop up, THIS happens.

Other SFA members... you're still welcome to post, just keep it within the agreement. Thanks.

Thread closed.

Y'know what? This is spam. I should have closed the thread when I first saw it. You know why I didn't? I didn't think of it as spam then. This place and SFA have a long history. Hell, the places they descended from (the SFCR and Team001) used to be parts of a single group! I figure there are still plenty of people here who visit SFA, and I figured they'd be interesting in this, so I let it go.

So, what happened? Some of you had to go and start up this damned, pointless grudge again. Obviously, there's nothing I can do about this anymore. You guys, on both sides, had your chances to show a little bit of intelligence, and it looks like you blew it. So why don't the whole lot of you just go off to the side somewhere and fucking grow up!
