This is the first rant I think Ive posted here, so here goes...

Ok, problem 1. As you all know, even though I live with Michelle, I am not romantically involved with her. I like her a lot. Yay. Well I have a good friend, who asked me out. Well, I dont want to hert her feelings, but I like Michelle. *sigh*

Problem 2. We have been a 8 year drought, and a sever one since 1997. Well, our crop was looking good this year, and we was all happy. Well here comes a tunderstorm with hail and ruins our crop. Well, since it was early, we replanted, and the rains brought he creeks back up. As soon as they rose they went back down. Now our main supply of water, has dried up. We have been steadily losing most of our food supply. We go to the store in Conover, but without good crops we are losing money, and if our math is right, if e keep spending the way we have to to survive, we will lose all of our money in fours years. Pray for us.

If this turns in a flame war, I dont care because I just need to tell this to somebody who mightr care.

You can save $240 bucks a year if you discontinue your internet use, just a tip.

Crops? What do you grow?

"As you all know..."

Sorry, I guess I wasn't paying attention. No-one said there'd be a quiz...

I thought you were getting married to that girl? And now there's no romantic interest? [Confused]

Posted by The_Tom (Member # 38) on :

Just tell Michelle how you honestly feel. I mean, if you can't open up to your sister, what hope do you have?

Posted by CaptainMike: Director's Edition (Member # 709) on :

I second the notion of your discontinued internet use.

Allow me to borrow a quote from a certain respected ex-Flarite regarding the notion proposed by Penguin:

Great Idea!!

Internet and Cable is all right, because we got that on the deal that our provider could power the community for half the price of each person.

Crops? Corn, green beans, watermelons, cantelope, tobbaco, tomatoes...

Tom, she's actually my neighbor Jack's daughter.

Posted by Snay (Member # 411) on :

So dump her and start up with whomever's daughter works the county store.

Why do I get the feeling our 'friend' here is slipping back into ripping off that TV show he so adores? [Confused] [Roll Eyes]

Posted by Red BWC (Member # 818) on :

Snay, thou art mistaken.

You see, Dixieland isnt the county store, but the local store, about like a Wal-Mart but with Confederate stuff.
I cant dump her, mostly because I aint going with her. You see, you have your facts messed up.

What, like slaves?

What happened to that girl you were going to marry?

Posted by Red BWC (Member # 818) on :

Slaves? No! We respect all laws, except the Sunday blue-light ones.

(Actually I dont think it matters, because when the office representing the county fell into the *now dry* creek I dont think they cared.)

I'm thinking we need to take an "approved excursion" & actually SEE all of this for ourselves. I nominate Rob & Jeff, as they're closest to me. I'll drive, just chip in for gas.

Posted by Red BWC (Member # 818) on :

That girl I was going to marry? You mean Sarah?

Well, a while ago she decided she could live a better life out of where we live. She wanted me to come with her, and I said no. Well, she decided to stay, and around that time we had to get busy in the fields, and she claimed that I wasnt speding enough time with her. (My barber's reaction was : What in the hell? Spend time with her? You have to plant something to get a little spending money...) And then she left, no goodbies or anything. Right after that Bill died in a car accident, and thing hvn't been right since...

"we had to get busy in the fields"

Well, I wouldn't stay with you either if you'd make it an obligation. And in a field, no less! How's she supposed to react?

:::raises hand tentatively::: Hey, uh, Red?

Yeah, hi. Uh, I've, ah...got a question for you. Um...when you look at the geneological history of your town...does it more closely resemble a forest, a small bush, or a log on the way to the mill?

Posted by MinutiaeMan (Member # 444) on :

"I always say when you reduce a family tree to a family bush, you just can't hide as much beneath it!"

Posted by Red BWC (Member # 818) on :

UMP: Well, considering we had to plow the weeds under, put on fertilizer and chicken manure (verrry valubale crop...) and then plow that under, plow the spots we missed, then fer off the rows, then plant, put on MiracleGrow, and so on...

Shik; Do you mean my Family or the town, because if you mean the town, weve been here as a town since 1796...

Posted by Edipissed Wrecks (Member # 510) on :

suck it. the township i grew up in has been around since 1790. that extra 6 years that we have on you has allowed us to grow to over 54,000 people. w00t for varied gene pools!

[edit: i didn't really want you to suck anything, by the way. it was a "figure of speech".]

But, is your family the town....

Posted by Red BWC (Member # 818) on :

No, my family isn't the town but here is a List of people who settled it:

Lail
Abernethey
Rutherferd
Drum

and a couple more have moved, but with 5 execptions, every family has been here since 1940.

Posted by The359 (Member # 37) on :

You do realize you're digging yourself a hole here, right?

Posted by Red BWC (Member # 818) on :

Ok, ok, not 5, but near that number...

Posted by Cartman (Member # 256) on :

And now you've fallen into it.

Posted by Daryus Aden (Member # 12) on :

I think enough has been said about his family. Guys you are moving damn close to, if not already over the line with this.

Leave it alone.

Red, they're not actually questioning your family tree, just forget it.

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

This is true.... We could put Saint Helen MI in to the middle of TN and it would fit the stereo-type to an I... a T has branches...

Family logs aside, have you talked to Michelle about how you feel.... You need to find out how she feels, or you are going to be miserable...

Of course, even if you do try that tactic, odds are you'll still feel miserable for some reason. Though that's not a reason to do nothing, just a caveat...

I want to hear more about this field trip that Shik has proposed.

In particular I want to know:

*Was he paying attention about what happens in fields down that way?

*Did he get any gas chipping?

*If random visits to the realms of other Flare-folk is going to become commonplace? (need to warn the gate-guards).

Oh - sorry Shik, meant to use your real name "Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxxxxx" [Eek!]

Rob, Shik and Jeff stuck together for a long drive? The mind doesn't so much boggle, as burst out of the ears.

I hate my legal name, TK, thus the effect to deceive.

Hahaha..."The victim was found shot multiple times..a quick estimate shows 130 or so points of entry of various calibers..and....is that BUCKshot? Also, the victim seems to have been decapitated as well as having had his limbs severed and scattered around the site. Whether this was done before or after the shootings we'll know soon."

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

I don't think that that would happen. Rob and Jeff would have shot each other long before you even got where you were going.

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Which explains why Rob has done a Dramatic About-Turn over guns...

I think if you substitute "Jeff" for "Rob" in Liam's post, you get the fantabulous sense.

I offer Chuckle's head for $500

The Newbie's for $300.

For $700, I'll snipe them both.

For $800 I'll snipe them both in such a way that it looks like they killed each other.

For $850 you get a free coupon for a single scoup of ice cream from Baskin Robbins.

My offers are non-negotiable.

(I'm an evil mutha fugga [Big Grin] )

$800 is worth life in jail, The359?

Charles -- you might want to invest in some protection. You can get a Mossburg 12 ga. with a pistol grip for $300 or so.
