I'm not sure what to make of this (I.E. how much I should smirk), but I received this in my e-mail today.

"Hello,
If you are a time traveler in possession of the Dimensional Warp Generator #52 4350a wrist watch, the Carbon Copy Replica model #52 4350 2 or similar technology I need a RELIABLE SOURCE! I will also need a transduction capacitor. Send a (SEPARATE) email to me at: [email protected]
with your cost if this applies to you. Please do not bother replying if you are unreliable as, I will need these items within 48 earth hours from the time you contact me. I prefer someone with access to teleportation.

It's better than godspam, anyway. Wish I got more mail that was written by insane people.

Humour him and respond. See if he wants a flux capacitor as well.

So, I responded. I hope he replies to this:

Clearly you are a fool who doesn't deserve any aid. Didn't they teach you anything at Null Haven? Or did you even attend? It seems quite unlikely. You didn't even use basic encryption, much less Hobb's cipher.

If you are genuine, then the following message should be no problem to decrypt.

49768 15975 14578 85736 98425 32154 78954 43857 24596 12367 58521 78531 55765 57562

Use iteration kappa rho to decrypt. Simplistic instructions, yes?

The ciphertext contains all the relevant information you need.

I think this particular message has passed beyond its originator, and is now being spread around by all sorts of people.

If you're even *considering* the XK memo replica, you need more help than I
can offer. Even the Dimensional Warp Generator #52 4350a is an odd choice
for taking your life back after it's been destroyed by evil Aliens. The 52
4350a has a substandard klonorizor and is likely to take somebody *else's*
life back and give it to you. Unless you're willing to take the risk of
being, say, William Bendix for the rest of your life, go ahead. If you want
reasonable assurance you're taking *your* life back, you'd best use the 62
4350b. Also, XK doesn't make the memo replica anymore. I think Dimensional
ran 'em out of business.

Hope this helps.

Whoever originated that message, is either:

1). a total genius

or

2). a total fruitcake

They say the line between insanity and brilliance is so thin it can't be drawn. I'm fairly inclined to believe 'm.

Is this guy retarded? To do this, you would at least need a DimenCom A10-40 Flux Modulator coupled with a China Comm Flux Wave Capacitor. And that isn't even going into synaptic re-integrators and paradox counter-balancers.

Yes, and I thought people used the internet for constructive/useful purposes, like porn. or posting on the best sci fi forum, at gods only knows what time of night...
