That is pretty neat. Not at all accessable to the public, probably because it costs millions of dollars, but neat all the same.

And I'm sure it will be available once the technology matures. I'm still celebrating internally because this proves it can be done.

Death by nosepicking.

I always thought the military would be the first to crack this. I wonder how long before loosing a limb no longer gets you a medical discharge.

Probably until they reach Rasczak level.

More like Murphy's. Kevlar laminated titanium and a killer handshake. Your move, creep.

Medical discharge? Pfeh, eventually they'll be cutting your arms off when you enlist and replacing them with these things. Your legs, too. You'll be running at 80kph and just punching the enemy's hearts out through their spines.

That was shik's rendition of the Bionic Man. Wasn't there something in the Forever War about combat space suits that automatically severed limbs when it detected injury? Now that's the kind of asinine concept I can see certain military types going for.

For some strange, strange reason, I thought he was doing the theme to Batman.
I read about something like that in Discover magazine years ago - nano-cloth shirts that could detect damage in itself or sense blood soaking through it, and send for a medic. They were talking about built-in tourniquets too I think, and integrated vitals sensors. Not with the severing of the limbs however.
