Be good to each other, Rufus dude.

Yes I heard about it this in the news, and it made me legitimately sad. Well so long George, you can now pre-board the plane to heaven.

And complain about the fat people taking up two seats...
I had always wanted to go to one of his concerts. I think he was going to have one in Buffalo in like a year or so.

He was a man I really looked up to. A friend of mine got to see him live once - even my mom once did. It seems like everybody I know thought he was truly wise and worth looking up to, and I personally think using using humor and sarcasm to convey wisdom is a beautiful art. I'll miss him.

I think my parents saw him live in the 80's. I've seen him on HBO, and although his humor is vulgar, it is painfully truthfull. I doubt many of my generation even know who he is.

7 words, 7 times. Indeed, he's bitchin up a storm in line right now, Mars. *sigh* And Sean? with the glory of the internet (and Youtube especially), maybe your generation will get to know Rufus, too....

There are a bunch of his albums on youtube. Still, it must have been nice to have been a fan of him during his hayday.

Ah Rufus, we barely knew ye and your Utopian society centered around rock and/or roll.

Sean: You can download the audio of all of his specials, too, from BitTorrent and such. If you have piracy concerns, well, I don't think he'd have minded even when he was alive. I listen to stand-up all the time on my MP3 player...it's better than (c)rap at any rate.

Sean, just tell those of your generation that he was the voice of Fillmore (the VW bus) in Cars. That would be something they could relate to.

He was also the Conductor on Thomas the Tank Engine.

That is, whenever Ringo wasn't.

Yep. But I didn't like Ringo.
