I believe our military emphasis should be on a "leaner, meaner" 'special-forces' type fast-response/high impact ready-to-fight high-tech military. We can, and should, spend our money more efficiently, and we should look closely into cost overruns to see where people are padding expenses.<p>I'm also against a 'disembowled' military, with poorly-paid soldiers, and potentially useful r&d programs scuttled by false budgetary constraints.<p>Also, the government and the military aren't the same.
