Well, it's obviously time to end THIS Government welfare program.
WHY would any agency need more than 1 card per employee?
Here you see a problem inherent in 'big government'... people use the fact that it's so big and hard to keep tracl of to get away with things they couldn't get away with if it was small enough to be closely monitored.
I'm hoping that they'll track these debts back to the cardholders and make them pay for it or fire them, but I'm not holding my breath. These folks are well-protected by the same system they have set up.

I'm against a 'bloated' military. I believe our military emphasis should be on a "leaner, meaner" 'special-forces' type fast-response/high impact ready-to-fight high-tech military. We can, and should, spend our money more efficiently, and we should look closely into cost overruns to see where people are padding expenses.
I'm also against a 'disembowled' military, with poorly-paid soldiers, and potentially useful r&d programs scuttled by false budgetary constraints.
Also, the government and the military aren't the same. The government needs more closely monitored than the military does (here, at least).

Might just be me, but it sounds like the military employees' spending habits are just as bad as that of the civilian employees.

No doubt in my mind that the people who fraudulently used their credit cards should be severely punished.
Heinlein's military would've had 'em whipped, but that's as may be.

Usually, when someone just refers to "Heinlein", especially in a sci-fi-geared setting, it's a good bet they're talking about the famous sci-fi writer Robert A. Heinlein...
