Holy shit. He seriously vents his anger at the media. Best interview ever.

STEWART: Here's just what I wanted to tell you guys.

CARLSON: Yes.

STEWART: Stop.

STEWART: Stop, stop, stop, stop hurting America.

So awesome.

Jon Stewart, now, more than ever, is my hero.

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

I worry that many people, like Carlson and Begala, will be under the mistaken impression that Stewart wasn't being completely serious.

I have removed the Torrent link. Please do not link to torrents (or other popular file sharing applications) that contain content not intended for distirbution in such ways.

I'd just like to say, for whoever keeps an archive of TEH INTARWEB, that I disagree with that decision. But I'm not going to argue with the Capps.

Surely news broadcasts are public domain?

Oh man.

No wonder I come here like, never.

That wasn't a news broadcast, it was a talk show. A talk show owned completely by a large company with a known tendency to knock people offline for sharing other properties it owns.

"Please do not link to torrents (or other popular file sharing applications) that contain content not intended for distirbution in such ways."

Erhm... so, if I'm reading this right, a link to ANY application that can be used to share files is verboten, unless that application isn't popular enough for anyone to bother sharing illegal content through it or the content being shared is explicitly intended/permitted to be distributed on a P2P network?

If that's really your position, please say so.

No, it's the linking to things that lead directly to said content, such as Torrents or protocol links, as well as instructions on how to obtain the content.

Linking to the applications and talking about the applications is OK, but there Flare shall not be used for file trading.

Now the real question is, how many degrees of separation we should be using [Wink]

Posted by Topher (Member # 71) on :

Seven degrees of Kevin Bacon!

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

Six.

Posted by Sol System (Member # 30) on :

Thirty-three.

Posted by Omega (Member # 91) on :

Fourty-two.

Posted by Sol System (Member # 30) on :

(But that isn't a number traditionally associated with degrees.)

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

It isn't a number, period.

Posted by The Mighty Monkey of Mim (Member # 646) on :

Exclamation point!

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

Colon.

(great, now we should move this to Forum Competitions [Roll Eyes] )

(Thirty-three is a number traditionally associated with degrees?)

(CUOLD SMION B A FREMESOAN ??)

Posted by The Mighty Monkey of Mim (Member # 646) on :

"FREMESOAN"

Question mark?

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

Well, he does know a lot about the dimensions of aquatic mammals. . .

Posted by Sol System (Member # 30) on :

1.) Now it is my turn to not get it.

2.) Not mammals, necessarily. Case in point: Sunfish are gigantic.

Now, back to awaiting silent Tristero's empire.

Posted by Harry (Member # 265) on :

That sunfish looks more surprised to see a human...

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

A sperm whale washed up on the beach I go surfing from, but I wasn't able to get out there to see it before they buried it. I did get to watch them try to get the trailer down onto the beach to retrieve the bulldozer, you'd think they'd have found it easy given they must have already done it once to get the machine down there in the first place!

Posted by Sol System (Member # 30) on :

I could tell some stories about watching large earth-moving equipment sink deep into the earth.

Well, one.

(And I didn't see the actual sinking first hand.)

Posted by Cartman (Member # 256) on :

(For ((Simon's)) great edification. Maybe.)

Posted by Sol System (Member # 30) on :

It was the aquatic mammal thing that threw me.

Re: Masons: They aren't the only ones.

At least they didn't try to blow it up.

Hmmm, to get back on the original topic.
You can view the original clip at
http://www.ifilm.com which looks to be more legitimate than a random torrent.

Three months later, but extremely relevant and good news:

CNN cancels "Crossfire", hands Tucker Carlson a pink slip

This is good news. Tucker Carlson is such an asshole, he gives my family a bad name. (I'm not related to him, fortunately, but we do share the same surname.)

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

In related news, the deep South is giving us library people a bad name.

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

Well, MinutiaeMan, it also looks like Tucker Carlson is going to bounce back and land his own show on MSNBC while CNN shuffles the rest of the Crossfire team around. Like Jon Stewart said on his show about this, it's like musical chairs except everyone gets a seat.

And, really, it's only a matter of time before someone tried banning Stewart's book. Didn't Wal-Mart refuse to sell it for the same reason?

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

Well, yes, but Wal-Mart can't really give anyone a bad name that they haven't already.
