Does the Miranda-class have a navigational deflector? It should. Anyway, I was thinking it might have a deflector array in the front of deck 10. This would make it a part of the main sensor array. The deflector and sensor arrays are combined on other ships.
This would also mean that the Constitution refit and Excelsior have a dedicated saucer deflector (like the Galaxy and Sovereign).

I asked the same question a while back. It's supposed to be those things on top the saucer. I know someone has a pic showing what I'm talking about.
I know what you mean. Those things that look the same as the ones from the outside of the Refit deflector dish. I'm curious, where did that theory originate from?

Seriously, it goes back to Avenger-era speculation, I believe.

But where is it at on the Constellation? Or the Oberth? There is nothing external similar to what the Miranda has.

The Constellation has a whole host of doodads and whatsits and thingamajigs. Pick a couple.
As for the Oberth, and a few others, not every ship needs a big swiss army deflector. Navigational shields work fine in most conceivable situations anyway.

Isn't the Miranda's deflector array is on the underside of it saucer. It is the same type of deflector array as the constitution class' secondary array.
I presume you're talking about the object in the center of the saucer there? That's the main navigational sensor array, IIRC.

That thing is probably also on the constellation class, I think that's the deflector.
Well, not according to over a decade of fandom. But hey, if you want to strike out on your own uncharted path, feel free.

Grb, Sol, Altair: That's the thing I was talking about (the front of deck 10). It is the sensor array but that supports my/our theory, rather than disproving it. Most ships have their main sensor embedded into the deflector array. The Defiant and Ent-D especially come to mind.
The Constellation-class has that thing on the bottom as well. The Refit and Excelsior would use it as a secondary deflector (for when the saucer is separated).

So it's either those two deck 5 knobs or the deck 10 sensor array. Or, could it be both?

Well, what purpose do those things serve on the Constitution's deflector dish, since there are 3 of them around it. Since they don't seem to 'glow' or anything, I think they are just sensors, and the Deck 10 think is where the deflector dish is located

The book "Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise" (the best Refit reference I've seen) calls those 3 things "space-energy field attraction sensors". I'm not sure what that means. It labels the Bussard collectors as "space-energy/matter sink (acquisition)". I doubt if those 3 knobs are deflectors in themselves.
So if deck 10 houses the Miranda deflector, just what do those knobs actually do??? Theories most welcome.

The TNGTM says the deflector dish actually performs four tasks: 1. a focussed beam to push away larger objects 2. a wide field to deflect small particles 3. long range sensor emitter/receiver 3. a multi-purpose omnipotent plot device (well, this is not in the TNGTM, but in several episodes).
What if the four above devices are available, but not combined in one dish in Miranda and Constellation class ships?
The small things on the Miranda saucer could create the focussed beam, and could do the same on Constitution class ships. The (weak) field could be created by the sensor array underneath the saucer. The Constellation has a cannon-like thing underneath the saucer, maybe this could be the deflector beam emitter.
As for the Oberth, doesn't the ship have a small opening in the engineering hull front end? I have to check the schematic.

The Oberth-class appears to have a deflector dish facing aft from the engineering hull. Don't ask me why. Mr Carson or ILM probably don't know why, either
I can't help but think that those knobs serve some purpose other than deflection. The book does call them sensors. Why couldn't that deck 10 dome serve all the deflection needs? We already know it is the primary sensor array.

Sol: Mr Scott's Guide is a much better Refit source than the DS9TM (supposedly canon) is for the Defiant. No Refit fan should be without Mr Scott's Guide. Defiant fans are better off avoiding the Tech Manual.
The359: Thanks, I didn't notice that before. So, both the Miranda and Refit have 3 knobs - fascinating
Wouldn't the two surface knobs damage the Miranda hull if they were deflectors? The top of deck 6 would be torn up.
Black Knight: I reckon the VFX guys stuffed up here. Anyway, there is a phaser emitter just fore of the sensor array.

What? Shane Johnson literally altered existing information to suit his own vision of what the Enterprise should be. Misplacing a torpedo tube is a FAR lesser crime than adding transwarp to the Enterprise A. At least we know where all the Defiant errors came from.

I'll admit, alot of the book is absolute rubbish. The deck chart and the deck descriptions are excellent, though. The ship schematics and labels are fare enough.
Regardless, those 3 knobs are still a bit of a mystery.
