Please people! Don't point out the one obvious bad sci-fi movie! (Star Trek V: Shatner's Ego Trip)

Some real cringers:
    StarCrash the Hasselhoff

Cyborg It swould be hard to single out just one.

Johnny Mnemonic Please don't speak, Keanu. Ever.

Supernova Robin Tunney and high production value is not enough.

Nemesis II,III Steroids are bad Mmm-K?.

Event Horizon Laughable dialogue. A total waste of good talent.

It was very hard not to mention ST5, MIB. It's just so obvious.

Err, Starship troopers, The Matrix, Contact, and Capricorn One should be on 'the best sci-fi movies list'.

Does this 'worst movies list' excluse sequels? I think it should otherwise I and everyone else will compile marathon lists.

A few though from the last couple of years or so:

The Lost World
Deep Impact
ID4
All anime/pokemon style shit ever made

(sorry anime fans, I just hate cartoons that try to be serious. They have as much credibility as Tom and Jerry)

oh yeh, 'Star Trek V: The Final Frontier' (you didn't say no Trek)

I agree with Nimrod. Virus, from what I know about the movie, was just a rip off of ST: First Contact.

The Red Admiral. Starship troopers should be on the best sci-fi movies ever made list you say?!?!?! I'll give you 5 seconds to get out of my sight or I'll take this shotgun and blow you away with it! 1.........2.........

starship troopers? ugh. fun, but not what i call "fine cinema".

um let's see...so many to choose from...
Arrival (sorry MIB)
Star Wars Episode 1
Jurassic park 2: Lost World
Alien 4: Ressurection
Sphere (terrible, terrible, terrible ending, but then the book was ruined by that too)
Johnny Mnemonic- i totally agree about keanu
anything from MST3k, but i guess that's obvious
Godzilla (the broderick one, it somehow works when they're deliberately being cheesy. This one does not)
Robocops 2 and 3
Demolition Man
on and on
and on
and on
and on.

when i think of more i'll be sure to post.

And none of the films in the Best are really the "BEST" either. maybe we should change the title to "mediocre at best" sci-fi movies.

No alright, I concede MIB and Vanguard, Troopers is not 'fine cinema' but the reason I wouldn't have it on a 'worst sci-fi movie list' is that I thought it was so damn fun. Sorry, but that's the way I found it. But I'm not a heathen dumbass, I enjoy intelligent sci-fi far more, such as Solaris, 2001 et al.

But to add to some other horrible sci-fi films, without been roasted may I quote the likes of:

Star Wars TPM ( I sincerely concur Vanguard)
Lost in Space
Judge Dredd
Wing Commander (just couldn't get into it, ended up hating it. S:AaB was better)

..and about 90% of all sci-fi sequels

You couldnt be more right. although, I didnt think Star Trek 5 was all that bad. Star Trek 3 was worse for me.

Well Wes, in my opinion STIII outclassed STV for the reason that it returned Spock to us. But it was more of a fill-in between II and IV, and no, it wasn't a great movie and no, the production values were not too hot.

But The Final Frontier lost all sense of....well, sense, basically. This was after about 5 minutes, and therein it continued to stink more and more. The centre of the Galaxy in the blink of an eye, 79 decks, and God...!? I mean come on. GR hated it, and wanted it de-canonized, and I applaud him for that! lol

Like others I long ago observed the general trend that all odd numbered movies were the weaker ones, and with the hype of Insurrection I just knew in my heart of hearts it just wasn't gunna cut it. But I watched it hoping the hoodoo would have been broken, but, errr, no. If anything it was strengthened. Luckily now, we're in the luxurious position in having far less anxiety with the new Trek X. May it delight and succeed as previous even numbered movies have!!

I don't know. I personnally liked ST IX. It wasn't quite as good as First Contact, but it IS the best odd numbered trek film to date. In all honesty, I liked Insurrection more than some of the even number movies too!

So GR tried to get STV to be de-cannonized. GOOD. I'm glad he tryed. A group of retarded monkeys could have done a better job when it comes to STV.

Has anyone heard any updates on the revised edition of Star Trek TMP? You know, I heard that once revisions are done with TMP, that Paramount is going to be doing it with the rest of the ST films too. So maybe. JUST maybe. STV won't be QUITE as shitty as it is now once the revisions have been made.
