The season 7 premiere, in my opinion, was excellent. Lots of unexpected twists and turns, such as the return of Kritchkau (sp?). And the scene with an elderly Mulder dying in his bed while Cancerman looks out at the devastation being wrought by the invasion from above was spectacular.
But the tone and feel of the X-Files has changed over last season and now this season as well. Mulder and Scully are now no longer investigating the unknown when it comes to the aliens and conspiracy, we pretty much know what's going on (or at least a good part of it). The story now seems to be one of Mulder and Scully trying to stop the impending colonization.
So what did everyone think of the premiere? And of the X-Files mythology arc as of late?
