Part of it is probably because I haven't watched the recent seasons of SG-1 yet (I've seen random episodes up through the end of season five, and I'm in the middle of season two right now, watching the series in order on DVD). So I'm not exactly familiar with all of the background on the Ancients.<br /><br />But as I understand it, the Ancients (who built the Stargate network) were the first evolution of the humanoid form, and they're supposed to look virtually identical to Humans from Earth.<br /><br />Now, the Ancients picked themselves up and left the Milky Way some thousands of years ago, and headed out to the Pegasus Galaxy.
