What did everyone have for their first car? I'm just starting out. I don't even have my license yet. However, I'm 99% sure my first car is going to be a blue 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier RS coupe 2.8L V6 5-speed manual transmission.

1980 Buick Century 4.3l automatic. Last year that they made those little V8s. Black with red interior. I loved that car, I should have listened to it when it didn't like my girlfriend at the time. Ooops, I married her. It just wouldn't start for her......

I just got my new car Wednesday, and I don't have a license yet either.
But it's a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero GX 2-Door Coupe, white, with dealer added special paint job and aftermarket rims, also added by the dealer. Just got the license plate for it tonight

My first car (which I got in late summer of 1997), was an '89 Acura Legend ... god, what a POS ... first the transmission, then the tires, argh! If it wasn't *one* thing, it was another.
Don't get me wrong -- I still loved it. The first car is always memorable. But I killed her delivering pizzas so I could buy my current JEEP! =)

First car: '96 Chevy Cavalier 2-door. Totalled in my school parking lot by two 14 year old gilrs in a stolen car.
Replacement "car" (I use the term loosely): '85 Ford Tempo 4-door.... loaded to the max... but, even the accessories couldn't change the fact that it was a Tempo. Revoked by my parents upon being disowned. Thank HEAVENS! Stupid car was the most unreliable thing ever.
New car: My baby, '96 Honda Civic LX.... I love her..... even AFTER getting in two wrecks with her. But I'll be car shopping again in the spring..... Can we say Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, anyone? ;-)

1984 Nissan Stanza. Had all the options: power windows, locks, sunroof, etc. Used to be a demo car. My maternal gradnmother bought it...& died the next year. My mother drove it into the ground to the point where it had 3 complete exhaust replacements & several engies. I loved that car, though.
The thing I truly enjoyed, however, was the fact that I could blow the doors off almost every other car at school...for underneath the hood of my 84 Stanza lurked the powerplant of a 92 Maxima--it was the only engine they could find that would fit that last time.

My first car was a 1990 Chevrolet Cavalier. 4 doors, automatic transmission, crappy sound system, power nothing but steering, and a habit of requiring a major trip to the maintenance shop once every year and a half.
I still drive this car. Well, not right now. It's sitting broken down in the parking lot in front of my residence hall. Frozen compressor, broken belt, and a dead battery.

Imagine it: warm sunny day, on your way to the beach, with the top down, and the doors off ...
It is rather small, but longwise - no trunk will do that, I suppose. Makes it easy to fit into small parking spaces; it's actually fairly wide (which provides for good balance). Of course, that is effected by what size tires you get ... and its got a Grand Cherokee suspension (well, the newer ones do, anyway), so the ride isn't that rough either!

The first car I ever drove was actually, REALLY, a 1930 Ford Model A. Of course, it was unpowered and being towed by another car, but I was steering!
MY first car was a tanklike 1983 Ford Thunderbird that we picked up at a used car lot for $3500. I drove it on my commute to Penn State Fayette. The bloomin' thing got 30 miles to the gallon!
