When looking at Voyager with an objective eye, it sucks. With few exceptions, the acting is horrible. Most of the stories are compelling, but are ruined by contrived sub-plots. The shows opening and a certain large breasted blonde are the best features and the only hooks.

So, uh, what's the point of this thread?

The alternative to intelligently providing arguments as to why some people ask "what went wrong" (other thread)?

You've pretty much echoed the sentiments of most people here, although we all probably have differing reasons as to why we don't like the show.

------------------
Lisa: "Don't you remember the story of Oedipus?"
Homer: "Maybe five dollars will refresh my memory."
Lisa (angrily): "Oedipus was the story of a man who kills his father and marries his mother!"
Homer: "Uggh! Who pays for that wedding?"

So does nobody like Voyager? I do not really like it but I will watch the last episode. I can't wait to see how sappy it will be.

I'm so tired of bash-threads... There should be a flame-board for Trek too.

I like Voyager. I like the ship, the environments ("Night", the coffee-nebula), the other powers they've encountered ("living witness", "Dragon's Teeth"), the fights (Voy vs. Krenim, voy vs. Equinox, voy vs. malon), the feeling of sailing through uncharted territory. Traveling through the alpha quadrant again will feel like a really long busride.

I admit I'm a bit biased, when I started with Voyager I had many friends that liked to watch it and DS9 with me, and that was fun. Watching them together for the first time, ripping the tape out of the plastic wrapping. We made an event out of it, picking some friday night here, one saturday evening there, with popcorn and soda and everything.
Not just casual zapping, "looking-over-the-shoulder-from-the-computer-at-a-tuesday-evening" kind of viewing that many people here describe.

Besides, I always considered DS9 and Voyager to be the same show; Star Trek. After an episode with one, I thought "I wonder how they're doing over there"...

I am in agreement with Nimrod. Who obviously isn't in this case. Well said.

I'm one of those lucky people who doesn't have to wait to watch the new episodes. I personally like voy and am getting sick and tired of all the people who continually bash it. Great we understand that you don't like it now sit down and shut up, nobody is forcing you to watch it. Every show out there has its good points and bad points. And personally the acting does not suck on voy I have seen a lot worse and voy is no where near it.

I like what Voyager could have been I am patiently waiting for the enthusiasm I had for it in the first few seasons to return. I really hope they get some ooompf back into it in these last few eps. But, if they wait until the last episode to do anything with getting them home, as some have hypothosized, I'm afraid it'll be too forced and rushed.

Acting doesn't suck, some of the stories suck. The show overall is in my opinion the worst of the 4. I don't think any of the shows needed to hire a new regular with big boobs to raise the ratings. Not only that Voyager is bashing the Borg! The Borg WAS the best bad guy on Trek. I watch it because some of the stories are good. But some are bad but I still watch it because I like the Trek universe.
