I dunno if this topic has been done to death or not, seeing as how I'm fairly new here, but what are everyone's favorite classes? Just curious. Mine are the Defiant(of course) and the Akira. Mainly because I like ships of war for whatever reasons. Plus the designs are rather unique in my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of the soverign though, I don't really know why either.

I used to like the Akira most of all, but I've kinda gotten bored with it. I do like the Steamrunner, and the Soyuz has grown on me since I started drawing a whole new schematic from scratch.

Galaxy. I like the living room atmosphere and it's amazing how such a massive ship can look so elegant.

The Akira is the best, followed by the Prometheus and the Ent-E. The Miranda is the best of the older ships.

I like the Chimera, since we've never seen it.

Actually, my favorite is probably the Miranda. It has one coherent hull, actual weapons structures, a compact shape, etc. And it doesn't look like a jellyfish.

Constitution Refit... hands down.

The Akira comes first (man, almost everyone seems to love that ship...) because of its elegance despite its radical departure from standard Starfleet design...

I also like the Sabre a lot since it kinda looks like a Manta ray (and I'd love to see a more detailed version in the next movie but I'm sure it won't happen).

And finally the Excelsior and its refit which have been my favourites for a long time. From the moment I saw it in ST3:TSFS I began to like the Constitution a lot less.

Gotta go with Defiant, Akira, and Steamrunner in no particular order. I could give you a "like/ dislike" rundown on every ship we've seen (as I'm sure very many members could :-) ) but that would take alot of room.

I've always liked the pre-refit Enterprise (NCC-1701 -- no prefix).

Prior to Star Trek, all "spaceships" in science fiction were either rocket ships or glorified frisbees. The TOS Enterprise was a significant departure from either concept. Just looking at it you realized this was a different kind of ship. It wasn't a rocket or a UFO, but something brand new.

The Enterptrise was a glorified frisbee attached to a flashlight attahed to two rocket ships.

Bradbury class. A slightly bigger intrepid with the nacelles always in the folded-up position.
Upgraded like the Lakota with all the tactical stuff of 2375-76!

Strictly canon, you say? Well, then I'd have to go with the Excelsior. There's something about it that makes me think "Rolls Royce".

Excelsior, the NX- or NCC-2000 versions, not the E-B version. Something about its sleekness (as compared to the ships before it) but its retention of the "old" look.
