I'm new to the forum. I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I hope to get to know all of you pretty soon. I expect that will happen, as it's a busy board.

One initial observation:

Regarding Ent: >>> does anyone in additon to me see a design lineage between the VentureStar shown in the opening credits and the Unknown Class Type I from "The Expanse"?

Much thanks

Oh.... boy.

Mr. Irishman, I hope you've brought your asbestos suit with you. Things are about to get a bit hot in this thread, for reasons that are much too complicated for me to explain. Well, not all that complicated. It's just that this is, well, the wrong forum for a generic "hello" post.

Good luck, and I'll see you around... if you survive the flames. [Smile]

At any rate, I'll just say a simple welcome.

He thought we'd be making jokes about Irishman's question being a drunken attempt at introduction.

We'll pass on ripping apart the Newbie.

.....at least untill after the holidays! [Wink]

I'm going to need some clarification.

The ship in the opening credits that you're talking about... do you mean the one shown right before Enterprise? The Lunar Colony orbiter? I've never heard the designation "VentureStar" before.

And which ship from "The Expanse" do you mean? The flying wing (which some around here have taken to calling 'The Iceland') or the one the Intrepid Type that looks more like Enterprise?

The Lunar Orbiter from the credits has a saucer at the front, and thus doesn't look alot like the Iceland, but all the ships of that general era seem to bear a passing resemblance to each other... as well as alot of 24th century ships...

No, he means Lockheed Martin's SSTO prototype, not the lunar orbiter thingy.
