Yep, I'm back for good. It all went slightly awry in Spain, I got evicted from my apartment, which is the short answer. But it wasn't my fault that the guy I was renting it from decided to fly over from Ireland at a moment's notice and move in - and about 6 months early. It was also impossible to find new accommodation at this time of year, even a holiday let.

All this means that I had to fly back home. And that, as they say, is that. Never mind, but I really was starting to miss my computer, big time, and my website, and all of you guys. So now I can get back to the real issue at hand: discussing endless minutiae, yeh ha, it's great to back.

And I missed you all...

Jees, I've only been gone six weeks....!

I don't remember you. I think you're lying.

That's okay, I was gone for 5 months and they never even noticed me leaving. [Razz]

Well I'm sure some people appreciate me!! LOL

This was the thread from when I left...

Don't feel too bad. No Flarite ever went AWOL without drawing some attention. As a matter of fact I seem to recall you posting a very sentimental farewell message [which I see you've managed to dig up] [Smile]

So, uh, welcome back.

Posted by Sol System (Member # 30) on :

How was your time in Spain, though, other than that?

Posted by The Red Admiral (Member # 602) on :

Spain was just fine, everything was going great until I had to vacate the apartment... No matters though, perhaps it just wasn't meant to be. I'm back now and it's time to get on with life.

Anyway, those that may not recognise my name, I've been a member here for a fair while now, and it just might be that they don't visit or post in the forums that I regularly visit. The main three for me being: General Trek, Starships and Technology, and Designs and Artwork...

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

So, I hope that you didn't get warped by that Spanish Cartoon Network, airing the XXX PowerPuff Girls...

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Although I assume that everyone knows that I was joking about that, I will just make it clear at this point that it was all a big fib.

(And if you think I'm being silly, I will point out that Jeff thought I was gay for about 8 months based on a joke.)

How were the foxy Spanish seniorettas?

Posted by Dat (Member # 302) on :

Glad to see you're back. I was getting tired of one newbie who irritated almost everyone here, especially Snay who kept thinking (saying) he was MIB. To tell the truth, sometimes I half-believed the same thing.

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

And by "almost everyone here" he means about a handful, of course.

Anyway, I'm glad to see that you're back. Dukhat is in the Starship/Tech forum sending love sonnets to Rob Legato, so there's interesting reading over there. Here in the Officers Lounge, Liam is showing us the secret, dirty world of the Powerpuff Girls.

Now for the big question: what fun and exciting things did you do in Spain? Go sightseeing at all? Please share the details!

Posted by Snay (Member # 411) on :

Dat, I may have shut up about it, but I don't disbelieve my earlier claims.

Who are all you people? I recognize none of you -- NONE! You're imposters, all!

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

Y'know, when I glanced at the title of this thread, I thought it said "I'm Black people".

Unless he is, but I really don't think he is. BTW, this is not meant to be an insult to anyone including RA and black people.

You fibbed??? Well, I just won't add you to the list of worthwhile Brits than.... [Wink] (I guess a "no shit" is okay to use...)

And Red Adm., yes, welcome back, and may we enjoy more of your images... I do like the Checkov...

Would it interest you to know that whatever hostilities between me and Dat have ceased? That me are not enimies (if you could call it that) like we were? When I was annoying?

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

Yes, we are glad that you are not at odds with yourself... or DAT, or Jeff...

Use of past tense, interesting....

Geez, having to reply to my one quote because I can no longer edit (the time to do so expired)

Anyway, so that nobody takes this statement the wrong way, I meant no insult to Red (as he already knows) and that this was in the past. As Red already said, there are no longer any hostilities between us.

To answer everything:

Snay: No-one confuses me more on this forum than you. Lol. I have never known anyone as dry and sarcastic as you - and that's saying something, I'm a Brit.

Red BWC: I haven't met you before, so I can't comment. You're obviously new here.

Note: 'Red', is my nickname, I had it first. So to avoid any confusion, you should be referred to as BWC, whatever that stands for...

Ritten: Powerpuff girls.... please enlighten me

PsyLiam: Spanish seniorettas?? - oh plenty of those pal. Mostly wild, drunken, up-for-anything British girls on holiday mainly. It's a lot more fun out there than it is at home, I can tell you that...!

Siegy: For the most part, just refer to previous comments I made to Psy. Sightseeing? Not much to see really. Sea, sand, and many many bars mainly. And I 'saw' plenty of those...

TSN: I'm not black, I'm white, not that there would be any problem with being black though...

Ritten: Glad you like the Checkov. Now the pod is more 'accurate' I plan on doing a more updated series of renders for the new version.

Y'know, I doubt either of you are mentioned often enough to cause any confusion in the first place. And certainly the context will make the addressed obvious. But since I'm so terribly enthralled by the dismally banal world of forum handles, and the quoted passage does not indicate any need whatsoever for the originator to go outside, I've changed mine.

I wouldn't have cracked down too hard on the Checkov thing but its like the fifth time this week someone's done it! Checkoff's Lost Missions is not a Star Trek game! i realize that you didnt screw it up those other times..

the other times it was misspelled, i am pointing my finger at the ACLU, at the feminists, at the homosexuals, at those who try to secularize our nation.. you made this mis-spelling possible!

...and Im now in Madrid, safe and sound, at one of those EasyInternet places. Found a hostel, pretty cheap (25euros). The area is absolutely full of whores. Some of them are alright, too [Big Grin]

Damn! The assholes at this place filter content, Im trying to get onto Yahooka forums to ask if anyone knows about getting a bit of pot safely here. Im off it now but seeing as Im here I want to see the Reina Sofia museum, which has a Salvador Dali exhibit, and I think it might be best appreciated with a bit of THC in the system.

"enjoyable" is the adjective i would use, but then, i like absinthe.

Posted by Jernau Morat Gurgeh (Member # 318) on :

Its not always enjoyable, not for me, anyway. Today, case in point (Perhaps not everyone will want to read on, its just about a bad experience I had today).

After a nice few hours exploring the city during the day, well, lets just say I came across some stuff. I decided to go to the Reina Sofia, and I spent a good hour and a half or so looking around (I had smoked one at this point), but mainly Salvador Dalis stuff. I went back to the hostel and smoked another three (which, of course, was just asking for trouble), then started thinking about Dalis pictures, whereupon I proceeded to have one the worst whities of my life. The pictures affected me pretty deeply, but not in a positive way, those paintings are so horrible and tortured and twisted (although fascinating in a distasteful way), I knew it was weird stuff and that I was taking a risk by smoking but I couldnt have anticipated the strength of my reaction. I was basically lying on the bed having sort of nightmares and feeling very unwell. Ive had this type of experience before 2 or 3 times, and I admit I really should know better (well, I do know better, I just did a stupid thing). The only reason Im writing this here is that these experiences are followed by a time of fragility, and it helps if I get it off my chest, even if I get flamed.

Posted by Prismatic EdipisReks (Member # 510) on :

i've smoked a lot, and the only reaction i've ever had is coughing and a general sense of mellowness and well being (and hunger). oh well.

Posted by Jernau Morat Gurgeh (Member # 318) on :

It was usually enjoyable for me, too, as long as I was in comfortable surroundings and in the right frame of mind. But the few bad experiences are something Id wish on noone.

Posted by Prismatic EdipisReks (Member # 510) on :

i'm sorry you've had bad experiences. all of my drug experiences have been totally positive. never a bad trip, and never a bad high. i guess stuff affects different people in different ways.
