Because I figured it was at least as interesting as Snay's pop-up crisis, I thought I'd mention that hurricane Ivan is heading directly towards my house and that I am leaving it (the house).

[Eek!]

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!

oh wait.....

Good luck man, hope you've got everything secured.

Where do you plan to go anyway? I mean, you're gonna have to travel the distance across Texas if you're gonna get away from it (at last glance, that hurricane is HA-UGE).

I feel for you: I just did the same thing with hurricane Frances.
Where do you live that you're in the bullseye?

Good luck with the fleeing.

Hmm... I guess being stuck at LAX due to an air traffic control center loosing power is far better I guess.

I hope they don't kill any toads in the mad scrabble to evacuate.
Good Luck, hope all your stuff is still there when you get back.

Perhaps now people will stop using hairspray, combustion engines and freon-powered dildos.

The house is was? in Gautier, MS near Biloxi we've fled as far as Northern AL. We'll still see winds and rain but after three years in Iceland that doesn't worry us so much if it is <90 mph.

We have all the people and mammalian pets, if it wasn't warm blooded it didn't make the cut, harsh but the car is only so big, are safe and we have wireless Internet for as long as the power holds anyhow.

Freon powered dildos, I'm sure that isn't legal to even read about in Alabama!

We're looking at 100mph gusts where I am. Yay.

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

Yeah...100 mph winds suck it: hope you did what we did a few weeks back: beer, chunky soup, halloween candy, books and chess.
Was not too bad: no power sucked though.

Hooray for living nearly 600 miles from the nearest coastline.

Though not far from one of the biggest earthquake risks in North America.

(This from someone who can see, through his kitchen window, two very scenic active volcanoes.)

Freon-powered dildos are years away... so I've been told at the Porn Expo in the LA Convention Center.

"Though not far from one of the biggest earthquake risks in North America."

What that site doesn't tell you is that they pronounce it "new MADrid". Not "maDRID" like the original in Spain. "MADrid".

And Cairo, IL? Cay-ro. I shit you not.

Damn hicks.

Makes you long for the days of:

Humptulips, Washington
Superior Bottom, West Virginia
Tickle Cunt Branch, Virginia

They aired "Dante's Peak" last wednesday!
I love it, lots of people die, it's not one of those "farmer dies in beginning, then everyone is saved but whoah was that a close one!" flicks.
Also, the only movie ever where Pierce Brosnan screams "FUCK!!" twice (in the end, when he gets mauled a lot by falling rocks).

My thoughts go out to the Floridians, I hope this won't mean Florida will be stricken from the voting list, inadvertedly helping the reppies.

Home safe. Some very minor damage around the homestead, all of which we've already fixed. Doesn't get much better than that!

Other than, y'know, not being anywhere near a hurricane in the first place...
