The Mystery has been solved !!!

I once read an article in a space and astronomy magazine that jokingly refered to the Great Martian Monster, or something to that effect. They listed the relatively large number of American and Russian probes that have been lost while traveling to Mars and mentioned the joke that there must be some sort of monster out there eating them. Of course we all know that the Martians have been destroying our probes for years to prevent us from finding out about their plot to conquer earth.

Why is this even in the Flameboard? It's not like we have any loonies to start raving about how this is the price Mankind will to pay for Daring to Pierce the Crystal Spheres of the Firmament of Creation, or whatever. Unless Wizartist wants to have a go. . . 8)

Just look in the sky and realize how impressive it is that anything at all makes it safely to that tiny red dot in the sky, let alone land on it safely and drive around for a few years.

I take offense to this article and thread, I and my siblings had nothing to do with the lander crashing, we had all agreed to just stand still and let it land, no one was to think any sudden thoughts in the thetabands or anything. I just stood there gaping as it knocked over my birdbath. Took my sis ten minutes to stop laughing.

We ALL know it was actually a photo of the Loch Ness Monster using technology stolen from Atlantis that shot down the probe. That is the price we pay for Daring to Topple the Corrupt Regime of the Martians who were Uplifted by the Great Monolith.

Will that do LEE?

Mars is a terrible planet and this money would be better spent on research towards providing me with a robot body.

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

I went to Wales the other day. It was wet.

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

If you had a robot body, you'd be dead now.

Strength of five gorillas, etc.

No sex.

Ten tigers, surely.

With an owl!

Posted by Sol System (Member # 30) on :

I think we've gotten our pop cultural streams crossed.

Posted by Nim' (Member # 205) on :

Tigers don't have sex with owls, that's a lie perpetuated by the Bristol lobbyists.

I'd rather have a mecha than a robot body, I value my glands.

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

You're the only one who does though.... [Wink]

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

The Mars money wouldn't be spent on robot bodies, anyway. Everyone knows our robot bodies are being developed in Japan.

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

And cheap kock-off bodies will soon be available from Tiawan.

Posted by Nim' (Member # 205) on :

So you buy the kocks separately?

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

I would. The last thing you want is to spend less and end up with a dodgy kock.

Posted by Cartman (Member # 256) on :

Pft. So long as you don't buy them in Japan, it's all good.

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

HmmmmI forseee specality aftermarket Kock shops...right next to the custom stereo and rim dealers.

Hmmm...gives "custom rim" a whole new meaning.
Mabye they'll make the "spinner" type available.

When someone starts underlighting them with neon, it's time to quit.

Freon-cooled, to compensate for the outrageous TPM achievable.

If only Nasa would turn their eyes toward some worthwhile goal like futuristic sex aids, maybe we could restore some habitability to this slimy mudball.

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Surely exterminating all furies would be quicker and less costly?

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

And, after the Furies, do we kill the Fates, the Sirens, etc.?

Posted by Sol System (Member # 30) on :

Now that you've plotted out the God of War sequel. . .

Well, I don't really have much more to say. But you can rip a harpy's wings off!

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

Can we kill the Delphic Oracle while we're at it?
I'm still sore over Aesop's murder.

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

The Delphic oracle was just a drugged-up snake handler. Hardly worth the effort of killing.

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

Well, there's always practice....

Would it be worth it to send a God Soldier on them, would that do the trick?

People announce their homosexuality in the oddest ways.

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

I told you we should have kept quiet about the man train. . .

Posted by WizArtist II (Member # 1425) on :

Some people just have Priapus Syndrome.

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Using my amazing powers of typing words into Google I find nothing that directly states what that is. The only thing I get is that Priapus was a very big boy,, and there's only one person around here who "suffers" from that.

Heh, Simon Syndrome. That sounds silly.

Who needs Viagra?

I can't wait to see the response to this.

You mean "Hi Everyboy"? I don't know, we never mentioned gays in this thread, so that would make him a furry. Or his eyes were merely too sensitive to read anything stronger than *frelling.

*which in some countries is a paraphrase for "fucking", OSIBT.

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

OSIBT yourself.

I was wondering about that too .... though maybe i was just being dense.

If it wasn't clear in my post i was joking. (notice the smilie at bottom) It really does take more than this kinda talk to disturb me. I've watched a whole episode of hollyoaks before, and after that i can cope with anything!!

Arthur "frelling" dent has nothing to do with sensitivity, but is a direct quote from farscape's John Crichton. Frell is a farscape variation on "fuck"

I love farscape. Anyone else?

Why has there been an influx (the official definition of which is "three") of British people here? Whyforewhatnow?

Posted by Arthur 'Frelling' Dent (Member # 1609) on :

Its actually all part of a dastardly plot to take over the world... Shhh don't tell anyone

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

Yes, we're known for our nefariousness.

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

You're british now too?
I just thought you were, you know....homeless or in prison or something.

Posted by Mars Needs Women (Member # 1505) on :

I can see my that my thread has pretty much been raped. Good Job Guys!!!!!

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

Yeah well....it was asking for it.

Posted by Grokca (Member # 722) on :

That's what you get when a thread wears short skirts out in public.

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

Hey, now, c'mon, we bought it dinner, you gotta expect a little give-and-take. . .
