She was a tough little ship.

Of all the ships I've known in my travels, this was the most (strange mouth jerks) human.

I believe the real reason for the Defiant's fate was caused by a transfer of Vic Fontaine's programs into the Defiant's computer.

He is evil I tell you!

Well, it was a good ship. But the fact that they are getting another (probably identical, except for the lack of a cloaking device) ship eliminates most of the sorrow I would otherwise feel. Unless, of course, someone important dies with the ship.....

*bows head in moment of silence, in honor of the USS Defiant*

The Breen luanch a sneak attack on Earth, the Chin'Toka System fails back into Dominion hands, Sol'Bor is killed, Kai Winn and the now exposed Dukat have discovered the ancient text of the Kossta Mojjen, the USS Defiant is destroyed in a big explosion of a torpedo (But not before destroying several Breen ships), the Chin'Toka rescue fleet consisting of Klingon, Federation and Romulan vessels is destroyed, the Cardassians rise up against the Dominion after a big speech by Damar, the cloning facilities are destroyed, Admiral Ross promises Ben a new ship!

For those of you wondering, the Breen weapon knocked out all power and several Dominion weapons blew parts of the Defiant's hull away and after all hands report to escape pods and are away, the final torpedo blows the ship almost in half.

I just watched this eppie a few minutes ago.

I DID cry when they abandoned the Defiant... I had previously been weakened by the shot of the Golden Gate... That SHOOK me... It's like seeing your house destroyed...

This is... Not good.

Speculations by me that the new ship that the new ship that replaces the Defiant will not be from the same class.

If it is, it will be extremely upgunned and souped up with new goodies like some new super weapon.
Stuff like that. New terms for a weapon that will keep us arguing for years, aka Tri Cobalt Torpedo.

I think they will bomb us with a new design. DROOL...

I did'nt do it.

Wasn't there something about them keeping the Defiant sets up until the end of the show. If the new ship wasn't a Defiant this probably wouldn't be done.

Okay, I just saw the episode. Even after knowing for weeks about the spoiler, I was still left shaken after seeing the Defiant go down. I was getting sentimental even while watching the crew go through the startup sequence and seeing the Defiant leave DS9 one last time.

These last few episodes are going to be tough to watch.

Like I said somewhere else, I'm not satified with how it went down. I think it should have been dishing out some punishment while it was taking some. It just flew by and let everyone take a free hit.

btw, I thought the shot of the Romulan Warbird in the background was breath-taking!

Before the comm. break; you could hear the radio, the music was real moody. I kept waiting for Sisko to say something and he never did. That scene was great! The music really added to that shot.

As the Defiant left the station for the last time, the weight was almost palpable. I knew what was coming. I knew this was her last flight. Her last fight.

I watched as if watching from a great distance, although I moved closer to the TV as the scene unfolded. It was like an out-of-body experience.

It was like watching someone die.

"She may have flaws, but she has teeth."

I loved that little ship.

"LITTLE?"

As Worf might say, she died with honor.

Well, I posted this on The Buzz at Decipher Inc., but I think it deserves posting here:

"Here's the place the last words sent to the former USS Defiant, still drifting in Chintoka. May she rest in peace. She went down in battle, but her life was cut short with a cheap shot. It reminds me of the TCS Tiger's Claw in Wing Commander 2. Destroyed in a test of a new Kilrathi fighter. Needless to say, I sent that fighter straight to hell later in the game. Still, what a waste. It seems all the greats get cut short in their lifespan. The Defiant, original Enterprise (still the most emotional death in Star Trek), Enterprise-D, the White Star, Babylon 5 herself, the TCS Tiger's Claw, hell, even the TCS Concordia was shot down. She was invincible, but alas all good things must come to an end. May they and her crews all rest in peace on eternal patrol. "

"Changing the Face of Evil" caught me totally off guard. I was NOT prepared for the destruction of the Defiant...I hadn't even run across any scant rumors on the net. And the attack on Earth hit me pretty hard, too. Regardless of what people think about the episode's writing and directing, etc., this was a major turning point in this story arc. I hope Damar kicks some butt...I think the Cardassians are going to redeem themselves.

Why do they have to destroy important ships ? As most of you must remember, the way the Entreprise-D was destroyed didn't make sense. An old Bird of Prey shooting multiple photon torps through Bid-D's shields ?

As for the Defiant's end, I find it very suspicious that the Federation never heard of this new Breen super-weapon...

But still, I grieve for this brave ship who fought till the end.

reason why Bop was able to shoot torps through the Ent-D's shields was cause they were able to adjust their weapons to compensate for the Ent-D shield frequencies.

And reason why they kill all the great ships is cause it does great things for higher contreversy and much debate.

Federation Never heard of new Breen super-weapon because nobody knows anything about the breen-DUH!
If they don't know what they look like, how could they know of (probably) their most secret weapon?
