I know that disparaging the quality of Enterprise is considered TABOO here sometimes, but it seems The Boy agrees with on a few points. Its a good sign to know he recognizes what went wrong with a few of them

If he also decides to act upon the criticism ENT has received by actually exercising his authoratah during S2+, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Fucking dangerous fucking Vulcans in outer-fucking space! HOW POOPY IS THAT!?

I hope they actually do something with the self-reflection. It's good they are admitting some 'poopiness', anyway.

No. Criticising Enterprise is fine. Posting "ENTERPRISE SUX THEY SHUD HAVE TEH ROMULANS FIGHT THE DEADALUS CLASS AND KILL BERMNA AND BRAGA!" is not.

With the possible exception of DARKSTAR, I have never seen anyone express an opinion about ENT in that way, Fan Boy.

Guys, as long as it has to do with Enterprise, it is appropriate... the only criterion I have is that any opinions be justified. A hit-and-run "Enterprise Sux" would be inappropriate. "Enterprise Sux, here's why" is fine. There's no need to get into that particular discussion again... why must every Enterprise forum post eventually debate not the show, but who-can-and-can't-say-what about said show? It's a dead issue best left dead.

Staying on-topic, I, too, am glad to see some admittance of retrospective poop.

I guess we now know why the "fucking Vulcans" have been portrayed in such a bad light...

Sorry. I must have been reading the alien-to-posters-named-after-characters-from-southpark-fourms.

But yeah, dropping now.

Rather touchy, aren't we honey?

Hang on, the mock male eroticism thing is myschtick, thankyouverymuch.

I am a big ball of cheerfulness. I am. Even when talented but arrogant twats post really big embedded pictures and then ignore you when you politely tell them to shrink them a bit. I still remain a beacon of love.

BUT...what Omega said last night can never be forgiven. Bad enough that he didn't like Common People, but upon discussion of the popular rock beat combo band "Queen" (and after I had to name some of their songs for him), he described them thus as shown in my signiture.

Screams could be heard long into the night.

I bet they did Liam.

He's a dead facist!

to me, omega's opinion about Queen seems scientifically derived.

If it's by creationist scientists, then yes, I agree.

Its an exaggeration of exactly what some people say.

Liam, honey, I am apt to agree with you about Omega there.... I would carry on, but this not being the flame board, I won't....

Posted by Eric Cartman (Member # 256) on :

Proteus: and who might those be?

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

No no Ritten. You explain. I am a reasonable man. You explain why you hold your opinion. And I will listen.

Posted by Snay (Member # 411) on :

So, what, you're going to give him your phone number?

Posted by The_Tom (Member # 38) on :

Or I might give it to him.

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

Or anyone who reads the moderators' Forum might.

Question first, was Omega even alive when Queen started out???
If not then I would't want him to lose his head, not watching for the hammer to fall, with his little one vision on how the world should be. After all, he probably listens to that new radio ga-ga, instead of spending a day at the races, or a night at the opera, for that matter. Maybe this is all innuendo to him, but the fact remains that, by viewing the sig lines, we must conclude him, like Al Capone, stone cold crazy, and, if not, then it's a miracle. If you could see him, what would his body langauge say???

okay, now, just gimme the prize!!!

Oh, and on the threads topic....
The previews for next season didn't seem to be that good...

You are a terrible human, Ritten.

Thanks!!!

I met Brian May once.

Loathe as I am using emoticons, I believe we all know that if I did use them, I'd have. So, you're not really terrible, but yes you are, for that song title thing. Although, you could have, and I would wet myself, used "Radio Ga-Ga" coherently, and you might have escaped your terrible status.

Radio Goo Goo.
Radio Ga Ga.

Queen is so the best ever.

Posted by Eric Cartman (Member # 256) on :

Good. Innovating. Eccentric. Not the best ever.

Posted by Magnus de Pym (Member # 239) on :

Well, no.

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Omega likes Semisonic. He likes "It's My Life". And as for his thoughts on techno, well, what can you say?

Posted by Eric Cartman (Member # 256) on :

That I agree with him.

Posted by Magnus de Pym (Member # 239) on :

The DiamondMan theme is the best. Or SpinningTopMan. Or whatever else was in those MegaMan games.

Posted by Bernd (Member # 6) on :

Honestly, better have an Enterprise flame debate here than completely leave the topic!

I like Braga's self-critical remarks. It's a sign that he cares about what he is doing and what others think about it. I also appreciate that he does have plans to deal with continuity issues (for instance, with the mind-meld). But the Ferengi episode he mentions is only one example that, in practice, this is not possible or considered necessary.

Over Semisonic? Or Queen? Because I'm having trouble reconciling the comments:

"Good. Innovating. Eccentric. Not the best ever."

and

"Boring, overdone. Nothing unique."

Posted by Eric Cartman (Member # 256) on :

Over techno.

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Dexter's Lab had some techno in it once.

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

My son and I used to watch that....

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Er, congratulations?

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

mmm, no, not really.... Untill I can do like my wife did, er, something similier anyway, and find a guy with a lot of money that can relocate me to AZ most of the things like that a barbs to my heart. I haven't seen my son for almost 2 years now.... and talking on the phone isn't the same....

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

My condolences. Seriously.

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

Thanks.

"Dexter's Lab had some techno in it once."

Yes. Trek had a Ferengi in drag in it once. Your point?

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

That maybe Omega should listen to it. He would be running with the "yoof" then, for certain. It is hardcore.

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

I guess Kiss is a little on the boring, un-imaginitive side too, for him anyway. I should add the old, original, Kiss to this. Pink Floyd was/is just plain useless. Black Sabbath, with either Dio or Ozzy was an awful group.

Posted by Sol System (Member # 30) on :

I am more than willing to concede that Black Sabbath is fun. Maybe even Dio, though I can take only so many ballads about angels riding warhorses and fighting demons. (The sort of nonsense Tenacious D parodies so lovingly.) But KISS is the worst kind of musical theater. Far worse than Cats. Worse than a vanity Broadway show, even.

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

But the thousands of fans that went to their concerts, I am thinking, thought so much differently... I was a wee little thing at the time, so I can't give a first hand account of it.

Same for Elvis, which I don't think sang a song worth listening to, but, millions of fans seemed, er, seem, to love him, still....

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

See, I have no problem with someone not liking Queen. Some people don't like certain types of music, and that's fine. It's a very subjective thing.

It's the phrase "nothing unique" that sticks out like Captain Mike at a Catholic School Girl convention. "Overdone" too. And possibly "boring."

He likes "It's My Life", but had never heard "Livin' On A Prayer".

This is what homeschooling does to you.

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

Bon Jovi, Slippery When Wet, I think...

"It's My Life" was a theme song for a sitcom, was Tom Hanks in this one, about the two guys living in an all womens housing complex???

A group by the name of Bon Fire, the only concert I've been to, in Langoens(sp? Bernd?), near Butzbach(sp? Bernd?), in Hess. This band is a lot like Bon Jovi....

Posted by Eric Cartman (Member # 256) on :

Omega's homeschooled? Well, that certainly sheds new light on a few things...

Incidentally, why? I'm bewildered by his uncommon choice of education. No suitable Creationist elementary schools within walking distance, possibly?

Also, if he had neither listened to, nor even heard of most songs in Queen's repertoire, how did he form his opinion of them? What did he base it on?

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

Bon Jovial and sitcom theme songs....

Posted by Sol System (Member # 30) on :

This is hardly the place for such character dissection.

And the show was called Bosom Buddies.

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

Yep, Bosom Buddies....

Frankie said "I did it my way".

But he was a silly person.
