Not REALLY much of a spoiler, but may as well post about it. Let's use this thread to discuss any noted changes in the ship we see.

HERE

Some local morning show got their guy a guest spot on the show. They took pics, and we get glimpses of the refitted bridge set. Noticable is the new, bluer paint job on the railings and doors, and the "new" captain's chair, which is really just the unused seatbelt chair from Nemesis! One wonders if it'll still have the seatbelts, and if the other chairs on the bridge are similarly set up with restraints. I for one wouldn't mind this change!

Sigh...

Such simpletons... Everyone knows that doors on the bridge and railings should be red! [Smile]

And can't wait to see them explaining how Enterprise-E captain's chair fell into temporal anomaly... [Big Grin]

Hey cool... I guess we'll be getting to see Denobula. Or at least a ship or station with them on it.

I wanna meet that airbrush girl.

Isn't she the Orion Slave Girl?

The E-E chair is easily acceptable, as it wasn't seen in the thatrical release of Nemesis - and IMO looked really out of place anyway. They probably didn't even re-upholster it - just swapped out the arm console touchpads with actual buttons, and off you go.

Yeah, yeah, I know, I just think they should've tried to make new command chair more TOSesque... just a little.

And painting doors red wouldn't hurt too. [Smile]

Someone buy that man a second facial expression.

Ooh, turquoise.

Doesn't red hurt the eyes after awile? Its not like all the doors on TOS were red anyway and the railing wasn't red in The Cage, people can't argue they should have The Cage's lasers but ignore the colourscheme. For that matter, how come people bitch about lasers, but not the use of Red in the uniform scheme? [Wink]

Of course, differences could be those of the Columbia, whose bridge is reportedly being seen as an NX-01 bridge redress.

Doubtful, as the guy was reportedly guesting on a show after "Home". So unless they weren't shooting in order, my guess is that this is in fact the new bridge set.

For the general E-nil colour palette from "The Cage", try THIS out.

Very boring. And those semicircular arrays of controls remind me of that weird-looking Microsoft keyboard, can't remember what it was called. . .

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Microsoft Natural Keyboard, or something like that.

And the Cage bridge looks really, really cramped. Pike looks like he could spend all his time kicking the two guys in front of him (maybe that's why he was replaced).

Which is ironic considering that it's the same set as used in TOS general run [Wink] .

The Fact Files pictures are notoriously inaccurate. Also, while the sets themselves were rarely as large as they looked on film (God bless Hollywood lenses), they aren't really THAT cramped. Here's the FF look at the "regular" E-nil bridge:

Hmm... Captain Boh is correct - they should've use The Cage color scheme... blue doors and dark railings.

At least they got the doors right. [Smile]

I *KNOW* it's FREAKY! _ <- that is that guy's facial expression.

Considdering how in ST2 and 3 the Enterprise, Reliant and Grissom all had different bridge colour schemes, I think it really doesn't matter if the NX matches a colour scheme years away from it

Er, I have just started to get mildly concerned that the people saying that the Enterprise colour-scheme is wrong and should be like The Cage's colour-scheme aren't actually joking.

It's ok, it's when people start saying that the haircuts should all be the same that we should really worry.

Posted by Kazeite (Member # 970) on :

Damn right! That damn color scheme is soo wrong! [Smile]

...

Okay, okay, it was not really apparent in my last post, but I am joking... [Big Grin]

Those pictures from the "interview" are disturbing and remind me of something from Trekkies, they seem to fannish.

"I *KNOW* it's FREAKY! _ <- that is that guy's facial expression."

Well, no, it's not that odd. It's just the fact that his face doesn't change at all from picture to picture.

Anyone else notice this glaringly obvious typo;
"Ryan (left) with guest star Brent Piner, who plays (Data from "Star Trek - The Next Generation")"
[Roll Eyes]

Posted by F.G. (Member # 968) on :

Ok, someone forgot an "S"...

Posted by Aban Rune (Member # 226) on :

And you can tell Piner's pretty excited that someone waylaid him in the hallway to take a picture with an extra. I'm sure he loves that.

Posted by F.G. (Member # 968) on :

The dude wouldnt be there if that was the case...

I mean, for the fans....

well, aside from that and the money.

Mostly the money though.

The mans a bastard.

And about the TOS bridge being cramped: I read somewhere that the TOS bridge set was almost identical in size to the TNG bridge set (at least as far as the width is concerned). Well, it certainly doesn't show IMHO.
