Check this guy's stuff out!

Awesome Ambassador MSD.

There also seems to be little easter eggs in each MSD [Wink]

very cool. i love the excelsior. it really gives a sense of the size.

Bit of an odd place to put the Centaur's deflector. You'd think the ventral pod would be a rather more obvious location, especially since that's exactly where he put it on the Miranda.

I like how all the ships have a Stellar Cartography suite- something I think essential to a ship operations, frankly.

Niiice. I got freaked out because the Galaxy was the first one I checked out. But all those additional details in the others totally sell it. Really superlative work...

I like his site. I wonder how the Steamrunner looks from the MSD.

Some ships have trees inside the ship. What is it supposed to represent?

Posted by The Ginger Beacon (Member # 1585) on :

It's from the Mr Scotts Guide to the Enterprise book. The trees are a "botanical garden" or an indoor arboretum for crew recration and botanical science onboard the ship.

I think we once saw something like that on the E-D (but I might be mistaking a holodeck episode or something).

Posted by Fabrux (Member # 71) on :

Yeah, the E-D had an arboretum that was shown in a few episode. Keiko worked there. It was in the episode with the imaginary friend and O'Brien's wedding, among others.

Nothing says they cant have a potted tree in some corner or outside an office either- it's no stretch to place a UV lamp over it.
Heck, you'd think that ships serving within the Federation's interior and starships serving dilomatic roles would have everything from aquariums to holographic-accented alcoves which would display artworks or scenes from around the federation.

Stroytime in the interactive holographic classroom would be cool as heck too.

Hmmm...we've never seen it but there could be large starships that serve as mobile universities- particularly ones specializing in subjects like astrophysics or archeology.

I can easily imagine the holodecks be used for emergency triage using the EMH system with the regular medical crew.

You could always rasterbator it. You know - it's a site where it converts so you can print sections out in A4 and then stick them on the wall mosaic fashion to get a very large picture.

rasterbator? *giggles*

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :

Heheh, I know.

Or, you could e-mail me and ask for a smaller or larger resolution, whichever you want.
I have specifically tagged the MSDs with a request to contact me if you want to use them [Wink]

Many thanks to all for the interest in my MSDs.

That's a great site you have- maybe you could do DS9, based on the DS9:TM
That would be great.

Hmmm...maybe the Proto-Excelsior model from BOBW?

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :

Or a Spacedock! [Big Grin]

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

Or DS9 fighting Spacedock!
Yeah! With lazers and...er.. stuff...

Posted by Padsbrat (Member # 2218) on :

DS9 and Spacedock are the most common requests.

Both would be very complex and time consuming. As such I have not committed to doing either and I am not sure I will be able to.
However, if my plans to offer up calenders, posters, etc of my MSDs and LCARS panels bear fruit, I might think about it.

Currently in construction are (by class name):

Conestoga
Oberth
Nebula
Excelsior (Generations version)
Retro Miranda
Danube

That's actually amazing work, and Oberth would seriously be awesome to see, considering we see so little of it.
Would you take in ships used in not-quite-canon-but-licensed material like Klingon academy (e.g. the Okinawa class frigate?) or just series canon? (simple curiosity, really)

Posted by Mars Needs Women (Member # 1505) on :

Conestoga? You mean like that colony ship from Star Trek Enterprise?

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

An Nx-Refit would be awesome as well...I really dig that upgrade.

I'd pay to see that! [Smile]

I'd pay to see Spacedock transform into a giant robot and use DS9 as a crown of torpedo-lobbing badness against the Dominion.
And it would use the TOS Planetkiller as a big club!

Yeah! We need an MSD of that combo...by next friday!

Nope, that was the SS Conestoga. I mean the Conestoga class. I'll give you a clue, it isn't Trek. [Wink]

Oooo, now I like that idea!

Thank you. I'll have a look at the class and see if it grabs my attention or not.
