Well, it had to be done - there are now ships named for three of our best-known posters on Starbuck's Shipyard. Baloo, Cargile, Hobbes - take a bow. Unfortunately the Crosswinds servers are offline at the moment; I'll keep trying to upload the updates, but don't hold your breath *sigh*.
I'll put another post in when it's all up and running again... Then you can all come enter my contest too!

Best known posters? Er, how to you mean? If you're talking about people who post a lot, Cargile definately wouldn't be there considering he hasn't posted here in ages... But if you're talking about people who are widely known, then Cargile would be in there....

(Don't worry, USS Fabrux coming soon )

Okay, the update is in! Check out this link to see the three hallowed vessels...

I can see it now. Every member of Flare with their own unique ship. Should be interesting.

Death before Dishonor!
However Dishonor has
quite a disputed defintion.

I'm deeply honored, but expected a ship named after me would have a less serious quote on its commissioning plaque than actually appears .

Well, thanks. Suprised to be listed a "three stooge" too. When I saw the topic I figured my name wouldn't be there. Anyways....

Can't get to the page, that server must be down again.

Federation Starship Datalink - On that annoying Tripod server.

Yeah, well, I brought Hobbes to this website...

Decided to make a ship in his name too. I'd upload it on my site but Tripod is a bitch when it comes to pics so I emailed it to Fabrux.

Still can't get to that page either. Though it seems hard to believe, Crosswinds appears to be worse than Tripod and Xoom put together.

Federation Starship Datalink - On that annoying Tripod server, sucks don't it?

Here's Hobbes's self-titled ship. Interesting design, although why he put put 8 photon torpedo launchers on each nacelle is beyond me...

Ya know, I was wondering. Just which stooge am I supposed to be?

You know, there were really six Stooges. You think I'm kidding?

There was:

  1. Moe Howard
  2. Larry Fine
  3. Curly Howard
  4. Shemp Howard
  5. Joe Derita
  6. Joe Besser

And what about Hobbes?

What about a Frank class ship?

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 138) on :

Well thanks Fabrux, but I was kinda hoping to post it myself. I even made up some specs for it. Oh, by the way, those are suppose to be phaser strips like on the Galaxy-class nacelles not torpedo launchers.

Hobbes-class; a hybrid of Galaxy/Nebula/Excelsior design with technology that meets the standards set by the more advanced starships in Starfleet such as the Intrepid, Defiant, and Prometheus-classes. The prototype was launched in late 2374 and in 2375 was fully commissioned.

Length: 674.90 meters
Height: 172.25 meters
Beam: 455.31 meters
Mass: 4,550,000 metric tons
Accomodation: 847 crew
Weapons: Nine Type-10 phasers; Four photon/quantum torpedo launchers
Warp Speed: 9.9

I FINALLY got to see your ships Starbuck, not bad at all.

I don't get the Galaxy/Nebula, seeing as where they're the same thing, only arranged differently and the Nebula has a pod..

Baloo: You've got the last two out of order. And, personally, you strike me as the Shemp type, for some reason. :-)

Can I be Curl(e)y? I can do a pretty good "Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo!" and "N'yuk, n'yuk, n'yuk"... :-)

Homer: "I can see what's happening. They did it to Jesus, and now they're doing it to me."
Marge: "Are you comparing yourself to our lord?!"
Homer: "Well, in bowling ability..."

For some reason I keep on remembering an ep of Alien Nation I saw once where an alien watches the 3 Stooges and apparently "nyuk nyuk nyuk" is an obscenity in their language...

I always rather assumed that Montgomery-class referrred to a design of really big spacedocks...

------------------
Monty: "With every drink of that pint more of his cognitive functions atrophy!!"
Classmate: "Wha? What does that mean?"
Monty: "Which word?"
Classmate: "Any of 'em!"

So... I will admit the Crosswinds server is a bit ropey at times... and maybe I don't know as much about the Three Stooges as you guys...
But you gotta admit, at least I'm trying!!!

Hobbes: What did you think of the quote for yours?
Baloo: Got any better ideas?

BTW I see noone's entered my email contest yet. Come on, visit the site and have a go!!
Minor fix now in place.
Oh, and Laz has given me permission to produce a shipkit. Watch this space!!

I loved the quote Starbuck, I may put it in my signature the next time I change it.

Well it's a quote from Something Under The Bed Is Drooling... so I thought you'd like it!
I'd like to see some of your kitbashes - where do you keep them? Or would you like a Starbuck's Shipyard Guest Gallery?

How about:

You can find my kitbashes at Fabrux's Fan Art section towards the bottom. All but the USS Hobbes are there.

Taking the Three Stooges theme a bit too far there, Baloo?
