On Friday night, we went to bed knowing that we'd have to be up a bit early on Saturday to do a "non-stress test" at 11, checking to see how our unborn child was doing. He'd be three days late that day.
We overslept, but woke up to what we thought might have been broken water. We went in to the appointment all frazzled, and waited for the test to make sure that the leak was indeed the leak we thought it was. In the end, it was!
Normally women go into labor not too long after the water breaks, if they aren't already, and Marcy was no exception. After eight hours of labor and about twenty minutes of pushing, Wesley Dale Capps joined us in the outside world at 2 AM on the dot.

The world's a-changin'. Also, operating on minimal hours of sleep is not advised.

Hey, congratulations! But I thought you would name your son Jay or Bob? From those characters in your movies?

Congrats you to both on the birth.
Just be careful not to refer to him as "The Boy" I guess!

Congratulations! Our first arrived at 5:58 AM, so I can sympathize with the lack of sleep. That was nine years and two kids ago, haven't been able to sleep in since....
Like the captions on the first and last pics. Very appropriate!

Honestly, I am honored. I know I don't post often, but this is just fantastic.
In all seriousness, congrats!! Wesley is a great name and every time I happen to think about it I am so glad my parents picked this name for me, its very classic and rarely used and women tend to love it.

Blimey! A baby! *eyes it* It's rather pink, innit?
Seriously, though, congrats on creating a new sentient being. That's gotta be a rush.

I'm not sure if I can describe him as sentient yet. He eats, he sleeps, he whines and wiggles, and he poops. He also likes to hit himself in the face. As soon as he begins realizing that his hands are completely under his control and removing his own fist from his mouth will cause his fist to no longer be in his mouth, then we can begin considering sentience.
Thanks everyone.

Your kid is just like me! Only, I post online sometimes and build models of spaceships. Other than that, he's got all my top moves down.
