Originally posted by First of Two: [QB] Sheesh, get a grip! methinks the lefties doth protest too much! All I was doing was making the quite obvious point that Hollywood and the Media, in general (but not in its entirety), are far more inclined to support 'Democratic' (the party, I mean, not necessarily the system of government) concepts than not, and gave one of the more blatantly obvious examples. None of what I said is either false or unverifiable, so where is the offense? Heck, even "Touched By an Angel" takes a 'liberal' view of Christianity Mythos... when was the last time anybody got smote on that show? (For a 'Conservative' take on Angels, try 'The Prophecy' with Christopher Walken. Now THAT'S an Old Testament Angel!) Now, to me, "Star Trek" has always been 'liberal,' in the good senses of the word, and I've never had a problem with that. In general, I've agreed with all the political statements Star Trek has made, especially about war, sexuality, and race since its inception (or rather, since I first watched it in re-runs). So I'm not saying that it's (or Hollywood's) liberalism is a BAD thing. Quite the contrary. But I do object, and I think rightly, to using the show to promote a specific candidate's specific agenda, no matter if you ARE his sister or cousin or whatever. And to the unfair characterization that I mentioned previously. [/QB]
