So how long can we go without posting before we're pruned? I'm curious because over the summer, and possibly in the future, I may be gone for long periods of time.

I think CC can make the distinction between people who've registered and never posted, and someone who is denied internet access for a long period, such as the summer hols. 8)
Which is unfortunate, because if he couldn't, we'd have a fantastic opportunity to delete Monty!

We appreciate your concern. It is noted and stupid.

While it is possible for me to prune users who haven't posted in X months, I don't do that by policy... I do do occasional prunes like this one where users who never posted are pruned. I do occasional prunes of people who have posted five or less posts and the last post date is a while ago.

Ummm, I'm a regular user here, don't prune me.
I bet if SFA "pruned" their users, they'd have about 10 less or more. Why people register and never post is beyond me, just makes more trouble for the Administrators.

Actually I just got through with that a month or so ago... We went from 500 users to 450. 50 users is a hell of a lot of duplicate accounts... Some of them were Excalbur, there must have been like 20 of those... I suppose with a database that big your bound to get that many dupes. But theres so many in there all ready, 50 users less wasn't a great deal less space. Hell, Tachy does 30 day prunes every other week and we've still got a steadily increasing message count...
