Each month, I pay $150 to my hosting provider for the Flare and UP3 accounts.
Unfortunately, I will soon not be able to pay that much. While I am making a decent ammount of money in my new job, I do not know exactly how much money I'll have left over each month after the nessecary expenses, such as food, water, electricity, etc. *L*
I've arranged to cut the bill down by somewhere around 30-50% by trimming down disk space use and moving UP3 to a server that I administrate, but that still might not cover it completely.
I'd like to ask you guys a question.
Would you be willing to shell out $5 or $10 each a month to help keep Flare alive and kicking? I'd figure out something to do in thanks...
Means of payment would probably be PayPal, a wonderful service that allows online payments both via credit card and check.
If there's not enough interest / ability to do this, the only other option would be banner ads, and I really, really don't like that option at all. I want to avoid banners if at all possible.

Ah yes. I remember those horrible days when Flare had banners...
Unfortunately, anything I pay would be in Canadian funds. A $5 donation would end up being $10 once I get a money order...

Fabrux is right.
What I will end up doing is giving you a single lump sum of $100 Canadian Dollars. After fees and such, you'll end up with $50 US dollars in your pocket.
I am happy to contribute.

Guys, please do NOT send money now - this is only a probe to see response... If this thing goes forward, there will be a few tax issues to work out.

$5 or $10? I think I might be able to swing that. It means one less CD a day, I suppose...

You know, Charles.... if you need to increase the funds coming into your new place, you COULD start selling your body.... that's what I'm encouraging my roommates to do.... I figure, I'll find them the clients, they'll put out, and in the end it'll all work out....
It's just a tought
Otherwise, I could probably contribute a bit of casherooni each month

$5-10 a month would be a problem for me... I'm really not in any condition to so. Most of my money goes into food and tuition, with very little to spare

I'll be a bit strapped for cash too as I'm saving up to move in a few months, but I will see what I can contribute, assuming this is what happens, and how it happens.
